I just hope these two get themselves around a winning atmosphere before the offseason gets dull so they can come into the locker room next year with a new coach and new outlook that's actually centered around winning and not going through the motions.

And hopefully Reinhart takes this as a wake-up call

Hopefully Reinhart wakes up as a power winger as a result of this snub.

Larkin as an alternate cap? Seems like an odd choice but I guess I can't say that he isn't a leader.

@usahockey - 2017 MWC Notebook - Monday, May 1 - USA Prepares For Tomorrow’s Exhibition Game Against Italy.

The 2017 United States Men’s National Team arrived in Milan on the morning of Sunday, April 30 and skated last night at Agora Arena.
All 23 players - minus defenseman Charlie McAvoy who will join the team in Cologne on Wednesday, May 3 - are here.

The United States also had a practice at Agora this morning in advance of its exhibition game here tomorrow night against Italy.
It will be the lone tune-up for the United States in advance of opening the 2017 IIHF Men’s World Championship on Friday against host Germany in Cologne.

Nearly 300 fans attended this morning's practice and players Jack Eichel/Dylan Larkin had fun interacting with fans at different times which drew significant ovations.
Two Italian players participated with United States in the practice and fans applauded wildly as they left the ice following practice.
The practice ended with a traditional shootout competition, which was won by Johnny Gaudreau.

His Detroit coach is his WC coach. I doubt he gets picked otherwise considering his age/experience with some of the other options. That's not a knock, of course. If anything it is the opposite since his coach knows whether or not he's worthy of a letter.

Haven't found anything yet. I did see that USA's first proper game Friday will be broadcast live on the NBC Sports app, which is good news.

United States Notebook - Mens World Championship - Tuesday, May 2, 2017.

The United States had an up-tempo 45-minute skate this morning in advance of its game here this evening against Italy.

There is no broadcast available in the United States. The game will be televised LIVE on RAI Sport in Italy.

Lou Vairo, who was the head coach of the professional hockey team Milano Saima from 1990-1992, is here for the game tonight. He also was the head coach of the Italian professional team, Fassa, for three seasons. Vairo, who is USA Hockey’s director of special projects, has been an unpaid consultant for the Italian Hockey Federation for the past three years, and was invited here by the federation. Vairo will drop the ceremonial puck prior to the game.

Bob Mancini, who serves as an ADM regional manager for USA Hockey, is also here for the game. Mancini was in Pinzolo, Italy, last weekend helping the Italian Federation educate youth hockey coaches and sharing principles from USA Hockey’s American Development Model.

LaxSabre - Jack Eichel is centering Andres Lee and Johnny Gaudreau on the first line. Jimmy Howard gets the start in net for the United States.

Hah. Once Greenway figures out he's even more dangerous along the walls with his feet perpetually moving, he's going to be quite the forward.

Eichel with Gaudreau isn't something I should get used to.

But I'd certainly be able to. Talk about max creativity...

Still 1-0 USA 7 min left first

This has to be because they needed an extra defenseman on short notice and he was in the area, right? I can't imagine they'd otherwise bring in someone who's playing in the second tier league in Germany.
