Your favorite team's all-time draft lineup

What's an all-time lineup of guys drafted by your team look like? Just for arguments sake let's get rid of the O6 era and limit it to 1967-onward.

Pittsburgh's got an odd blend with some elite forward talent and an underwhelming defense.

Naslund-Lemieux-Jagr
Straka-Crosby-Recchi
McEachern-Malkin-Bullard
Moulson-Larouche-Staal

Letang-Bodger
Ference-Orpik
Muzzin-Rozsival

Fleury
Millen

Habs

Shutt Koivu Lafleur
Naslund Mondou Lemieux
Gainey Carbonneau Richer
Pacioretty Plekanec Tremblay
Leclair Ribeiro

Robinson Chelios
Langway Markov
Subban Desjardins
Schneider

Roy
Price

Habs -good forward depth, but only one superstar. Stronger on wings than down the middle. Extremely strong on defense and in net.

I thought you were selling the Habs short on C (and possibly on RW, too), but... not really. I guess Rejean Houle and Marc Tardif could be considred for RW and LW respectively (Tremblay makes more sense on a 4th, but maybe not on THAT 4th; I thought Tardif was actually a RW but he's not).

The four other centers worth considering would be Drouin, Acton, Cassels and Conroy. For 4th line duties, I'd probably prefer Conroy to Plekanec but that's ultimately a wash.

And..euh.. Tretiak?

Not my favourite team, but i did the Dallas Stars. Obviously they get to draw from the North Stars, as well as the Cleveland Barons/California Golden Seals franchise through merger.

Jamie Benn-Mike Modano-Jarome Iginla
Charlie Simmer-Viktor Zhluktov-Helmut Balderis
Brian Bellows-Dennis Maruk-Jere Lehtinen
Brenden Morrow-Bobby Smith-Jamie Langenbrunner
Neal Broten

Craig Hartsburg- Derian Hatcher
Curt Giles-Ron Stackhouse
Frantisek Musil-Arnold Kadlec
Dick Redmond

Arturs Irbe
Don Beaupre

I'm starting to doubt the omission of Turco though, even though he lacks playoff experience a solid regular season goalie can be useful. What say you?

Anyways we got a formidable offense, a serviceable and balanced defense.

Zetterberg-Yzerman-Ogrodnick
Kozlov-Datsyuk-Fedorov
Mahovlich-Dionne-Holmstrom
Probert-Primeau-Kocur

Lidstrom-Konstantinov
Kronwall-Larson
Chiasson-Dandeanault

Osgood

The bottom defence pairing could probably be any number of guys. After the top 4 it was kind of wide open and not as stellar.

Several more talented players could have made up the wings of the 4th line, but why not? The Bruise Brothers were a big part of Detroit's history and along with big Primeau in the middle could be a wrecking crew in limited minutes. Plus it's not like there was a lack of scoring throughout the top 3 lines. I mean when you have Marcel Dionne as your 3rd line center you're doing just fine.

Holmstrom could be questionable decisions as one of the wingers, but again - huge part of Detroit's history and additionally he's a PP specialist who could play on all 4 lines at even strength.

And lastly, as much as I'd love to continue to see Datsyuk and Zetterberg together, I'd also be interested in seeing the Russian 5 forward unit with Datsyuk replacing Larionov.

Canucks

Daniel Sedin - Henrik Sedin - Cam Neely
Vladimir Krutov - Igor Larionov - Pavel Bure
Don Lever - Ryan Kesler - Trevor Linden
Dirk Graham - Mike Peca - Stan Smyl
Ex: Patrik Sundstrom, Jannik Hansen

Alex Edler - Mattias Ohlund
Harold Snepsts - Bob Dailey
Doug Lidster - Adrian Aucoin
Ex: Kevin Bieksa

Cory Schneider
Glen Hanlon

Solid team in a general sense, but probably pretty lacking compared to other draft teams. I like the makeup of the scoring lines and bottom 6, but the defense is just a collection of #2s and 3s.

Could add Rick Vaive and/or Petr Nedved, but I preferred other players for chemistry/all around game.

Rogers was on my original list of candidates, but I ended up glossing over him. I still like the makeup of this team without him though, ever if he was better than others in a vacuum. Daigneault wasn't as good as the other defensemen imo.

The Red Wings could field two strong teams easily, and if you could go back and include O6 era, could probably ice three.

I'm not doubting you in any way since i'm not a fan of the Stars, but if you compare your lineup compared to my earlier try, minus the inclusion of the Golden Seals i had, what say you?

I tried to stick to true amateurs and guys who played in the NHL, so didn't include Fetisov and Tretiak.

As for the Habs draft history, they've drafted more good to very good players than any team IMO. There are a lot of guys who you could make a case for. But they are lacking in elite players, hence there all time draft team doesn't seem as impressive as one thinks it should be.
