Will they be sending a limo or a cab to pick him up at the airport?

If he flies United, they'll probably send an ambulance.

If I was a Vegas fan I would be opposed to this.

No one is expecting Gallant to do anything with Vegas next season. I can't imagine a more appealing scenario for a coach.

Good deal for him, go lose for 3 seasons and not be in trouble.

I'd be surprised if any of the coaches in the playoffs get fired so Gallant was probably the best option.

If it's true, Gallant is a great choice for a first coach. He's apparently really player-friendly, and will let the guys play naturally with just a little bit of guidance, rather than be a tyrant and demand they play a certain way.

This is every coach dream. To make the team on your own choice, to work under no expectations,no pressure, you can only gain.

possible scenarios
1)LVK will be last in the league- no one will blame coach
2)LVK will not be last in the league(+-29) - the coach is really good
3)LVK will fight for playoff - coach is a genius

I love this choice. Gerard Gallant can get his teams to play hard and buy in. The only reason he was available was because of dysfunction in Sunrise. Remember, the roster will likely be built with mostly second and third liners and middle pair defenseman. He could end up very much like Barry Trotz.

He has zero expectations and a place to call home for the next 3-4 years that has zero income tax. He'll also get the chance to coach a team from scratch that (potentially) won't be saddled with any bad contracts.
