Before Gully got hired by the Flames, I was hoping he would be the first coach of Las Vegas. He had a solid fan base from his Wrangler coaching days.

Too bad there's no Queen or Pawn just yet.
There is a Jamie MacQueen who used to play in the AHL and is currently playing for the Berlin Polar Bears in the DEL.

Hoped for this as soon as he was fired!

Great choice for a new team. Shouldn't have been available.

Fun fact: only active coach to lose a playoff series to the Islanders.

Didn't he win an ECHL title?

Gallant is a solid pick though for sure.

Super happy you guys are in our division too. Two good chances for road trips every year

A decent coach for the Golden Nuggets to get things started. Will get you to the playoffs but that's about it. His assistant coaches makes sure that the special teams will be bottom of the league and GG himself will be outcoached from time to time. If something on 5vs5 isn't working, GG won't fix it until it's too late.

Excellent choice for LV. Excellent chance for him to get back in action.

Going to Las Vegas on Sunday. Looking forward to visiting T-Mobile Arena and getting the "vibe" from a new team getting ready to play. Good luck to the Gallant Knight!

That's correct. Gallant and staff are not competent enough to lead a team to the cup. Many rallied behind GG because he represents old school hockey tactics and the good ol' boys club.

The main reasons were the Panthers won the division the year before, and he had the respect of the players so no it's really not stupid that the media heavily criticized the Panthers management.

And a 25 point increase in the standings the season before the division title. The only two full seasons he had with the team.
Not only that, but ownership/management telling him to change the way his team plays the game, in the mist of all this success. Which IMO was the reason they lost in the first round to the Islanders.

Ironic that he was also a NYIslander fan when growing up in Summerside PEI .

for me that was either him or Julien... MTL got Julien 1st, Gallant to LV

Vegas did the right move, they are assembling a very good team of managing ppl to start that franchise
