Should arvidsson be captain?

Fish may have another season or he may not. Regardless, when he retires I am curious how many think arvy should be captain?
I bet he pumps the guys up and has insane work ethic and can do it all.
I think of our current roster either arvy, ryjo or Josi should be captain.

Thoughts?

Part of being a captain is communication with officials and he doesn't strike me as a guy who really gets into things like that. I think it's Ellis or bust.

I see Ekholm doing his share of talking to the refs if there is not an assistant captain on the ice with him. I think he may be a good candidate and he seems to carry more weight in the lockerroom than most think.

I think he will be a part of the leadership team in a couple years if his play/hustle is maintained. That being said, it's Josi/Ellis's to lose.

The A's will go a few of:
-Forsberg
-Josi/Ellis
-Ekholm
-PK76
-Joey

I just don't see it happening, but I wouldn't object to RV being in there. The players usually decide the group, do they not? Or is that a staff decision?

Wouldn't shock me if it keeps going the way it is that it isn't Ellis next.

I think here it is a staff decision.

Awards:
Under Trotz it was a team vote unless I'm just completely remembering that wrong. I swear I remember them voting for Weber after Arnott was traded.

Under Lavy I have no idea.

I've been under the impression that Josi has been one of those quiet leaders who lead by example (obviously lots do, but he especially). He's also damn talented and pretty experienced by now. Being close to Shea can't be bad either, right?

I'm fully expecting Josi to carry C once Fish retires.

A's for Ellis and whoever of Neal, Forsberg, Ekholm, Subban, but not Arvy. Even with all of his hustle, energy and work ethic on the ice, I just don't see it.

I somehow see Wilson more likely to have A stitched to his jersey than Arvy.

It's got to be Josi or Ellis, IMO.

Gotta be Ellis next. Then we can dub him mini-Shea.

a team vote is a bunch of crap. You know who leads the team by the way the locker room conducts itself. Leaders lead. Followers follow. Need both.

Josi or Ellis.

I love Little Arvy, but not enough tenure, yet. Most of all, I just want to see him be Arvy and nothing else. Skate like a crazy guy and cause havoc with no captain worries.

I think captains are overrated by hockey fans, anyway. I just don't see Fisher or most anyone going up to Johansson or Neal and telling them what to do. Just one of those things that sounds important to hockey fans but is just a guy to talk to the refs, mainly, and that's about it.

Another vote for Josi or Ellis, here. And I continue to vote against Joey ever wearing a C... or an A, for that matter; he produces but he does not lead. I like Arvy, but we don't need him to wear the C and he's not been around enough yet.
