Probably better than needing to sign a bunch of vets.

Eagles schedule for next year announced already.

The one player I'd really worry about in that situation is Martin. Binnington probably stays with Chicago, but Martin might be splitting time with Husso.

Wouldn't that be entirely up to the Avs though?

The org is going to need a proper #3, Martin isn't ready for that yet. Don't think they can take on other goalies.

Coaches want to win and the Avs don't own San Antonio. If the Blues are going to make the commitment to San Antonio for future years, the SA ownership may push for Husso to be favored. This isn't really cut and dry as they are the Avs' affiliate, they'll get the preference.

I agree the Avs need a #3.

I believe it was the Missouri (now Kansas City) Mavericks.

Don't worry... I think the second part of your dream will come true. It makes way too much sense right now for Colorado to get expansion AHL franchise. St Louis ownership doesn't want to pony up the money, and the Avs have been trying to get their AHL club close for years.

I don't think that's technically their affiliate, I think it's the Islanders' but the Blues have used them. They aren't going to have an AHL affiliate or an ECHL affiliate. If they had an ECHL one they'd have somewhere of their own to put guys at least.

Agreed on that. Many signs pointing toward this.

That's right, it was the Islanders. Blues could be one of the teams that didn't align with an ECHL team last year.

Maybe Lindgren comes as part of a Sergachev deal

This has nothing to do with money and everything to do with Chicago and Vegas developing a very common sense heavy relationship which just leaves the Blues out in the cold.

Owning an AHL team is not a money maker in most cases. St Louis owned Peoria for years and decided it wasn't working out so they sold and, by all accounts, have no desire to get back into that game.

I think everyone knows this situation isn't optimal, but in a year it will all be sorted out and everyone will be happy with the final result.

How would ECHL level players be an improvement over proven AHL players?

You'd trust this org to find capable players over taking in players from another org? I think you'd prefer that anyway to dilute this org's imprint and to move things along to the future, no?

Belzile article on 9News. Not very insightful, but nonetheless:

Nantel with the game winner in OT, Boikov was a bully tonight, St Amant with a goal 14 seconds into the first, Belzile with a goal (of course). First year coach. First year asst. coach. Blow up the Avs. Hire the Eagles. That is all.

Good article on the AHL guys with the Eagles. Some good quotes. Stuff you like to hear from prospects.
