I don't know, is he confused. Does he think Eurolanche is saying 17-18? Dater just plugged his article saying what the DP said too.

if the Eagles become the AHL team I'm reasonably certain I'd go to more of their games next season than Avs games

Loveland, just up the highway from the outlets.

Just about 150 miles from my house. Probably not going to those games.

That would be great for me! I live about halfway between Loveland and Denver, so I could easily go to both.

Lind has massive plans for things in the area, and the Eagles are one of the backbones of his plans to continue to draw more business to Northern Colorado.

I could be wrong, but aren't they building a new arena for the Eagles soon?

No, they have plans to possibly add on somewhat to the BEC. But you may be thinking of the report of the county building a 10,000 seat baseball stadium, along with a massive baseball and softball complex in the next few years in NOCO.

Now he's saying the 2018 part is wrong. There's no 2018 season so I don't get it. Is he trying to say 2018-19 is out too? Well then the Avs are going to miss the boat.

I know some (few) AHL franchises are owned by a third party but it's moving away from that and I'd be surprised if they granted an expansion franchise without NHL ownership.

Eagles beat reporter throwing water all over the Post article. Says the odds of it happening are near zero. Could be a smokescreen, it sounds a lot like the comments that were made when the rumor going around was the move to the ECHL. Have to admit it kind of cools my jets a little about the possibility, but there is so much smoke about this move that I still think there is at least a 50-50 chance.

It was a post he made on the Eagles Fanatics facebook page. Not sure how to link it.

For the record, I've had several discussions about the Eagles becoming an AHL affiliate and there are many obstacles and challenges in the way. The odds of it happening any time soon are slim (I'd say near zero). I respect the Denver Post, but not sure how Chris Stewart pondering options out loud warrants a story suggesting it's in the works or imminent. It's not.

Thanks. I guess it's up to whoever's interpretation of soon. Andrews was on the radio saying there WILL be 31 teams in 18-19. So if it's not the Eagles then the Avs have another plan or they are sitting on their ass letting the opportunity go by. It has to be by 18-19 or it's not happening.

We both know this is far more than Chambers' speculation. BSN/Dater wrote about it, the rumors on the AHL board. And why would Andrews go to random AHL games plus the entirety of the Avs FO.
