Thrashers are taking a lot of liberties with Tootoo. They are hitting him well away from the puck. Not suprisingly, the refs are looking the other way. We just can't buy a break (or a rebound, or a centering pass that doesn't hit skates).

Hamhuis just ROCKED Kovalchuk. He doesn't get hit that hard very often. He's shaken up.

Whew. Vokoun nearly put the puck in his own net.

I hate it when he playes the puck. If that or the Piros goal would have gone in, I would have calmly switched off the TV because this just isn't our night.

We're either hitting Nurminen in the chest or missing the net. We need a seeing eye shot!

Now way Nash wins this one. Every bounce is going Atl way on this one. We need some luck to score here.

I don't know if the ice is horrible but the puck won't stop bouncing for us.

Damn, hit Pasi right in the chest. We need the seeing eye shot. Tell me Voy, doesn't it seem like the loose pucks are going right to Atl on this one? I think this is one of those nights.

Arghh this is embarrassing we just cleared it on ourselves. Thrasher just seriously boarded Hall, no call

Another goal missed because of a bouncing puck. Damn this ice!

Somewhere in the second period the puck started bouncing our way.

Kovalchuk with the trick.

I guess Kovlachik is ok after getting crushed by Hamhuis. Scores a hat-trick.

What a comeback. Tootoo is a punk(not a bad thing), he finallly got the Thrashers attention when he threw Savard a cheap elbow and the Thrashers D gave him several nice shots the next shift.

Nurminen was weak early, but was strong down the stretch.

This was a frustrating game for the Preds. This was the type of effort that should have netted us a win. Congrats to the Thrashers. I was wondering where Ilja went after getting creamed by Hamhuis. The next time I saw him on the ice was when he potted the EN. Surely that wasn't his first appearance since the hit?

After the hit Ilya went to the bench and stretched his stomach out a bit, but I do not think he missed a shift. I think the Preds had a couple of PP's right after that, so that might be why you think he missed a shift or two.

I didn't remember hearing his name until the game clincher. Thanks for the clarification.
