Kinda shocked on Tim Murray - thought he made some very shrewd moves over the past few years bringing in getting O'Reilly and Kane. I would have given him a little more rope with a new coach.

Thought Bylsma was gone but didn't think Murray would be canned. Lombardi to Buffalo?

Sounds 'bout right. That organization was looking like a dumpster fire internally. It'll be interesting to see who they bring in.

Maybe he would not fire blysma himself?

No excuses now for Sabres fans if the next management fails as well. I wonder who Eichel trades first.

That's kinda my guess. He was told fire Bylsma, refused, and so ownership fired the both of them.

Wow.

Sure looks like the Eichel drama had a lot to do with it considering the timing.

Definitely agree, this reeks of Murray backing his coach and Pegula decided to clean house completely.

Kind of a burn for Murray, taking Buffalo through the swamps of (near) last-place finishes and then getting kicked out. Not that I feel badly for him. The writing was on the wall, though, and this whole Eichel / Bylsma drama required some response.

Awful coach.

Awful GM who backed said awful coach.

Maybe the Sabres will get some good personnel.

Yeah - I guess that's certainly a possibility. Or maybe he felt like hockey ops was his domain and the owners telling him to fire Bylsma stepped onto his turf or something.

Buffalo seems to leak like a siv, so I'm sure we'll have a juicy story about this eventually.

Damn, Eichel already given Lebron status in Buffalo?

Seriously, don't think they are bad moves, but surprised Murray has been relieved. This may mean the culture in Buffalo is as bad as rumored and he received the blame. Wonder who they bring in though. Lombardi is the logical big name candidate.

Happy with the Bylsma move. Not sure how I feel about Tim Murray being canned.

Wow. Thrilled to see Bylsma gone, but did not see GMTM leaving. Who would be a good fit for the Sabres new GM?
