Bylsma deserved it and had to go. Murray, I don't see why he couldn't have been given another couple years with a new coach. I guess if he was the one who wanted Bylsma then so be it, but we Sabres fans always assumed Pegula had a big hand in that.

My major concern with firing Murray is that I don't necessarily have a lot of faith in the Pegulas to make a good hire. If they do, then so be it, I don't really care that they fired Murray.

I guess Timmy isn't a genius like some people wanted us to believe?

Doubtful. He was quite critical in his post-season press conference. Most assumed he wanted to fire Bylsma but needed to wait until these meetings with Pegula to get his permission as it'd cost $9m.

I'm gutted. Thrilled to see Disco go but I firmly believed that Tim was the right guy for this job.

Holy hell this is bittersweet.

Seriously, don't think they are bad moves, but surprised Murray has been relieved. This may mean the culture in Buffalo is as bad as rumored and he received the blame. Wonder who they bring in though. Lombardi is the logical big name candidate.
Yikes. Lombardi hasn't been good for years either. He got lucky with Mike Richards.

Firing Murray was right thing to do, he's grossly incompetent. Guy talked bigger than Burke about how he's got no patience and he can accelerate the rebuild...ended up falling flat.

Byslma was such a poor fit with this team, but I am a little surprised Murray is out. Wonder if Lafontaine is laughing in the background. Terry is pissed off at how his franchises have become laughing stocks and completely mismanaged.

Dont like Eichel one bit. Never did anything in the league and hes given reign of a team? This reeks of a catastrophe.

Kind of surprised about Murray. I have actually liked some of the roster moves he has done in his time. I honestly thought the problem with the team was about coaching and health rather than a true roster issue. Better coaching and a relatively healthy season and they could be A LOT better of a team. Figured Murray would have had a chance to find a new coach.

Blysma on the other hand, no surprise there. Pens fans warned Buffalo fan about him adamantly when he was hired. Now they see the light. They guy is a fringe, at best, NHL coach. Would be horrible surprised if he held another head coaching position at the NHL.

That wouldn't be good for the Sabres.

Pegula's can't be doing the hiring right? They have to get someone who can interview some GM candidates.

Eichel seems to be running that show, which is kind of funny knowing Timmy went full tank mode to get McDavid, failed, and got the kid that possibly got him fired instead. Karma sure has a sense of humor.
