I guess.

I mean... I'll be honest, how would we know he'd be good/bad at the job? I don't even know where to start in trying to evaluate that, or if it's even reasonable to try to do so.

Anyone have a list of current Hockey Ops President types? Which teams have a role like that, which don't? Former unemployed guys who have had the position?

Today:

Van - Linden
Cal - Burke
Tor - Shanahan
NYR - Slats
Bos - Neely
LA - Luc Robitaille

That is just some of them.

Some teams that don't have one:

Chicago, Vegas, Detroit (unless you count VP Jim Devellano), Montreal, Anaheim, and Nashville.

It's about half and half.

Need to focus on a GM first, then let him decide who the coach should be. Pegula's have gone through a number of coaches with the Sabres as well as the Bills.
I think we should have given them (atleast Dan) the boot right after the season ended. The timing with the expansion draft fast approaching concerns me. Need to act on a GM fast

I didn't go through the whole league.

That's why I said that is just some of them.

It's just sinking in that the next Sabres game I won't have to be demoralized about the usage of the roster. What a freeing feeling.

What happened to Dineen? His stock seemed to be pretty high at one point along with Patrick.

Friedman speculates that the Pegulas could bring in David Quinn and then find a GM willing to work with him.

I could see Quinn coming here but I am not sure I like the idea of hiring a coach and then finding a GM seems like more of a circus to me.

Yeah this is really going to help the "who really hired bylsma" conspiracy

If that happens the Pegulas will officially become a disaster.

Hire a GM who thinks Quinn would work out here. Quinn has a ton of experience at other levels was a player and has a connection to Eichel.

I think we are almost at the point of "disaster" without a move like that.

I don't think anybody can argue that they aren't already disasters. It doesn't mean they can't learn from past mistakes or get lucky hiring some people who perform well in their jobs.

I pray we see a different Reinhart and Girgensons along with a Eichel who stops coasting.

A new coach and a different system is really necessary to evaluate what they have in these young guys. Too many players have had arrested development under Bylsma.

Ya'll would be incredibly smart to grab Dubas and Keefe from us. Keefe has done tremendous things with the AHL club and our prospects, while Dubas didn't make a bad move when he was interim GM

Some candidates I hope they speak to: Kevin Dineen, Ralph Krueger, Phil Housley.
