just read article that stated Quenville is not happy at all that Mike Kitchen was released as they are best friends. Quenville has had an on and off feud with Bowman and the front office.

Step 1: hire Mike Kitchen

Step 2: wait for things to escalate in Chicago

Step 3: Hire Coach Q

I'm interviewing for the GM position tomorrow! Lol

He wouldn't have done more. He can squeeze a bit of blood from a stone but that's it. Hating Tim Murray is all well and good. Hating that he fired Ted Nolan is not. Ted Nolan is not the coach this team needs, to say the least. Neither was Bylsma, but that's another story.

I wonder if we keep Bob Woods, he ran the #1 PP this year. We havent had a #1 PP in some time. It was quite nice for once especially after the Nolan re-era.

I'd like to, but it depends on who the new coach wants next to him.

It'd probably be preferable to but if the next coach doesn't want him it shouldn't be a big deal. The talent is there on the PP.

That dynamic changes at the NHL level, so you'd need a GM who can work with him...or he needs to be able to properly adapt. Ideally you get a proper mix of both. And that, to varying degrees, applies to all college coaches making the transition. Most of that is "duh" level stuff, so I'll shut up now.
Haha you know there is no such thing as duh obvious on this board.haha

In all seriousness a coach that can win in any league with lesser talent is a likely good coach, but if the money is enough building a new program for twenty years is not a bad way to spend a career.

Sportsnet has 5 under the radar NHL coaching candidates. Not Sabres specific, but this has some names that haven't really been thrown around here.
Jamie Kompon.
Assistant with Kings for 6 season, a Cup in '12 and Director of amateur development.

The next season Assistant with Hawks for another Cup.

With the Blues 9 years as video coach, strength/conditioning coach and later Blues assistant (with Kitchen) under Q (including the 99-00 President trophy winning team).

Took over the Winterhawks: Mike Johnson recommended Kompon to replace him as coach (when Johnson joined the Penguins) and took the W'hawks to the finals in 14-15. Was replaced by Johnson after getting swept in the 1st round a year later.

(Kelowna is the Tom Brady of the WHL, no shame in losing to them)

I at least want Kompon interviewed. There's diversity and success within it, was part of win now teams but also developing for the future.

It really was a nice change, I agree about keeping him. Felt the same way about Irbe after Nolan.

I'd like to avoid personnel from the Kings right now. That team was built the opposite of what we need. Bylsma was coaching their style of play and it clearly didn't work.

Beating the Sharks isn't really a great measuring stick. We almost always beat them, for whatever reason.

At this point I want a combo of Botterill/Housley signed so badly the suspense is killing me.

The comments from Ellis and Subban are quite the endorsement.

I wish we'd get a damn GM soon so we can start speculating on coaches.

I'm right here too. I think Housley could do so much for Risto, McCabe, Guhlie, Nelson, possibly Antipin. A defence core that could move the puck up quickly and smartly would do wonders for our forwards.

Any chance that if Botterill comes he brings Clark Donatelli with him?

Friedman just said Rick Tocchet would be high on the list to be coach if Botterill is hired.

If Botterill is hired I wonder if Rick Tocchett comes with him as head coach. They were just talking about it on sportsnet

That would be a 180 from Pegula stating at his PC that he wanted "experience". First time GM and a first time HC.
