Any example of a chronically bad faceoff center yielding the dot to a winger?

I am thinking this guy Derek Stepan on the Rangers was something like 3/13 at one point last game, he's gonna lose everytime. Why not have a forward try.

Seemed like Brouwer was taking quite a few for Stajan this series.

Back about 10 years ago, Alfredsson was by far Ottawa's best penalty killer, but as a winger he was terrible at faceoffs. When killing a 5-on-3 with a faceoff in our zone, Zdeno Chara would actually take the draw instead.

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins is awful in the faceoff dot.

6 million a year and only wins 43/44% of the faceoffs that are taken.

Back in the day, Teemu Selanne took quite a decent amount of faceoffs. I forgot who his center was but his center wasn't very good in the dot.

But Teemu almost exclusively took the faceoffs if they were on the right side of the ice. He almost never took them on the left side of the ice or at the center dot.

Ribeiro constantly let the wingers take faceoffs, he's awful at the dot

Seguin isn't a poor faceoff guy by any means but Jamie Benn takes most of the draws on the left side

Panthers do this all the time. They have different players on the same line take face offs depending on who is the opposing center and where on the ice the face off is taking place

Matthews(L) and Nylander(R) both take strong side draws

Okposo used to take faceoffs over Nielsen when it was on his strong side.

Pretty sure most people know who Stepan is, he's not exactly a scrub or a rookie.

Also, since you used the Rangers as an example, when Hayes & Miller play together, Miller will sometimes take the draw even though Hayes is the center.

Blues should be doing this with Steen but for some reason Steen is taking faceoffs when we have Sobotka on his line.

McDavid is not very good in the dot, so Draisaitl will step in.

it only makes sense. Use the guy with the best chance to win.

PS - I had no idea Chara used to take those draws in Ottawa! Seeing him tower over the opponent must be a pretty funny visual

Colorado has the strong side shooter take the faceoff for every faceoff inside either of the blue lines. The only outlier is Duchene who takes pretty much every faceoff when he's on the ice since he's better on his weak side than any right handed shooting faceoff man is on their strong side.

Schiefele needs some of this action - he sucks at faceoffs. I seem to remember that Bryan Little would take important faceoffs for Schiefele, then he would immediately go for a change and let the winger come out.
