Also, at the last prospects tournament in Canada there were letters and numbers on the roster passed out next to some of the players names like: 2a, c, 1b, 1.5b, O etc. I wonder what those letters and numbers mean?

My son had the letter "c" next to his name.

THANKS......
AA means he's rated in the top 40 for the OHL Draft. A somewhere between rounds 3-7 B 8-11 and C 12-15

If your kid is a C it doesn't mean much as long as he's on the draft list it's up to the teams and if they like him.

You'll find alot of teams will pick a kid that central scouting rated as a C in the middle rounds because there scouting staffs feel he fits their needs better.

The prospects list is their sites rankings.

Yes Marcus is indeed the younger brother of Matt.

Nathan Moon should go very high as well, hes 15 years old and plays triple-A hockey. He scored like 113 goals or something like that in 1 season.

Wow 113 goals. I don't think I have scored that many in 30 years of pick up hockey.

HPO OHL Draft list accurate?

Hi,

I would like to know how accurate this HPO OHL Draft Guide is..............because my son received 3 OHL packages with the last package wanting my son to fill out a priority selection form along with his picture emailed to OHL...................and his name is not on the list that you are advertising.

I also paid $10.00 for your HPO OHL Draft Guide list.

Please let me know how accurate is this

last note:

I would still recommend this Draft list from Hockey prospects online for all. It's only $10.00 for alot of information (40 pages!!) and probably very very close to being 100% accurate.

Good Luck to all the hockey players on May 6th, 2006!!!

Take Care

Depending on Stamkos' decision this week on OHL or NCAA (could be a farce to drop to a different OHL team...possibly a Toronto area team, Kitchener or Ottawa) the first six picks seem pretty set right now.
If Stamkos says no the the OHL things will change big time, otherwise here's my best guesses from what I've seen and heard leading up to the draft... and let's keep the differences in opinion civil guys!

1. Sting F-Steve Stamkos - Markham Waxers
2. Generals D-Mike Del Zotto - Markham Waxers
3. Ice Dogs D-Alex Pietrangelo - Toronto Jr. Canadiens
4. Otters F-Cody Hodgson - Markham Waxers (major)
5. Greyhounds F-Greg Nemisz - Clarington Toros
6. 67s D-Tyler Cuma - Mississauga Jr. Ice Dogs

7. Spitfires F-James Livingston - York Simcoe Express (major)
8. Attack D-Mitch Gaulton - Toronto Red Wings
9. Bulls F-Nathan Moon - Quinte Red Devils
10. Majors D-Mike D'Orazio - Toronto Jr. Canadiens
11. Wolves F-Vern Cooper - Sudbury Nickel Capitals (major)
12. Spirit D-Nick Crawford - Don Mills Flyers
13. Whalers F-Justin Larson - Peterborough Jr. Petes
14. Frontenacs D-Shawn Lalonde - Cumberland Barons
15. Storm F-Jason Wilson - Richmond Hill Stars
16. Colts F-Anthony Nigro - Don Mills Flyers
17. Battalion F-Corey Trivino - Toronto Marlboros
18. Rangers D-Brandon Burlon - Vaughan Kings
19. Petes F-Matt Ribeiro - Mississauga Senators
20. Knights F-Phil McRae - USA NTDP Under-17

Other possibilities:
F-Stefan Della Rovere - Toronto Jr. Canadiens
F-Josh Brittain - Toronto Jr. Canadiens
F-Josh Dadic - Toronto Red Wings
F-Nazem Kadri - London Jr. Knights
D-Jordan O'Neill - London Jr. Knights
D-Brent Sullivan - Ottawa Valley Titans
F-THomas Nesbitt - Ottawa Valley Titans
D-Matt MacDougall - Ottawa Valley Titans
F-Brett Perlini - Sault Ste. Marie North Stars (major)

Wow, two Markam Waxers with the first two picks? That's the team that won the OHL Cup right?

That's a nice list. Similar to mine excluding most of the Americans. Our site adds them in because we are ranking the best 90 bday players not JUST the OHL draft.

However that looks fairly accurate.
Kadri will probably go first round. Lalonde could slip and so could Moon.

but a good list at that.

Has Phil McCrae made his intentions known whether he wants to play in the OHL or go the NCAA route? I know the Knights would love to get one their picks from last draft - Sam Ganger - next season but I believe he just committed to Wisconsin. Hopefully he will change his mind at some point ....

Vern has some language barriers apparently and is considering just playing tier II next year near his hometown. Hopefully he can work out these issues and head to the OHL the follwing season or maybe Sudbury could pick him up? you never know

Great list Ktown and excellent insight into this years OHL draft.

Sarnia is going to have a special offensive talent in Stamkos (sp) and Del Zatto is just something else as well he is going to be a really good offensive d-man for Oshawa if he ends up there.

Ktown when we hittin up Philthy's and AJ'S for a few bevys?

Not sure about Gagner.... he may yet change his mind and I am not so certain about McCrae, I think another team will take him before London has the chance to. Yes I know his dad owns a small share in the Knights but his dad is also friends with some other coaches in the league as well.

We can hope Sam Gagner does change his mind - would and a nice touch of offense next season. He is related to Dave Gagner who played in the OHL awhile back? Had heard that Jacques Beaulieu - who had coached the U-17(?) team last season on which Gagner played - was trying to convince Gagner to join the Knights instead of going the college route. He would certainly get a lot of playing time with a lot of the offense graduating/heading to the pro's next year .... Did Basil McCrae play with Dale Hunter in the NHL by any chance? Whatever connection works would be great but as was mentioned Phil McCrae seems to be
a top 5 -10 player ... Stranger things have happened though ....

Could you perhaps elaborate on the language barriers? He seems to have a pretty WASPy name.
