It could be a translation issue... the interview was in Russian. Palat and Johnson have also already earned their contracts regardless of this season's performance. The bash on Cooper got me just as much... players really don't like playing for him at all.

Hey, if he's on the way out I'd happily look at making a deal with Tampa Bay. If they're intent on getting a defensemen back, they could keep Drouin and deal Kucherov instead

I'll show myself out now.

Someone in the thread on the main board said they have a Russian wife, and they asked her to translate it:

My wife's translation:

"Some guys have gotten too comfortable on the team and stopped working. Collected their checks, and, knowing they didn't have any competition, did not give 100% on the ice. Playing with them was difficult; I would pass the puck and nothing would happen.

Per Mrs. BOK, the first part of the comment does not necessarily refer to how long the players have been on the team. Kucherov was commenting on their complacency. The $$$ part is about collecting paychecks rather than getting fat contracts.

23 years old, 70 goals over the past two seasons, signed for under $5M cap hit the next two seasons - he's not likely going anywhere.

I agree it won't sit well.

Dreger confirmed Iginla is moving to Boston. Has nothing to do with commitment to hockey next year but I just wanted to point it out because there was somebody on here who said this several months ago.

Yeah why the hell would you move to Boston from LA after getting a taste of Sunny California? Old age has made him both crazy and slow.

The only thing that makes some sense is a lighter travel schedule throughout an 82 game schedule lol.

Dreger says his family absolutely loved Boston. His kids are major hockey players and Boston is the best place for them to develop their games without having to travel too much.

According to the guy who posted on here a few months ago Iggy was moving to Boston before he had any idea LA was going to be his new team anyway.

Ahh I knew there had to be some logic there that I wasn't seeing. So there is no rumor of him talking to Boston to go with that?

If he didn't like it in Colorado he could have lifted his NMC last year

Haha, I was born in Stockton, and spent plenty of time in San Diego/LA. It only sucks if you have no money or do not align with California politically.

Isn't Stockton one of the most dangerous place in the nation? Yeah, I think it might sucks for other reasons as well.

Yes, and it sucks lol, so maybe that screwed my view of LA/SD.

It was either there or Bakersfield where a few of the Rampage guys witnessed a shooting walking to the rink from the hotel.

When you get even more confirmation the NHL team does not care about their AHL team and makes them walk to the rink through a bad area of town.

NorCal and SoCal are both pretty nice.

Once you get into the central valley (Bakersfield, Stockton, Fresno)....those places suck. Nobody enjoys those areas. Super hot with horrible air quality, rampant poverty and no real opportunities. There's just not many positives about those areas. I guess the cost of living is cheap, but it's the dream of everybody in the central valley to move out.

My roommate last year was from Atwood(pretty much Fresno) and whenever he'd meet someone else from Cali they'd always go from excited to meeting someone from Cali to feeling bad for him.
