Didn't we used to have that guy? Anyways, Hasek did return at the end of the first to the bench, but had no gloves or helmet on or anything. I dont think its to serious but I think they will ride Vokoun for the rest of the prelimanary's...

Yup we had him, and so did the Islanders I believe.

Was never terribly impressed.

He returned to the bench area late in the period, a towel draped around his neck.
My bad. I read it quick and thought it said bench. Not sure if he was dressed, I'm not watching.

He had one great World Championship, thats why he was on the radar, but wasn't too spectacular in the NHL games he played.

Sorry but what is the diffrence between groin and hamstring? I know what the groin is but I thought hamstring was that muscle too...

Hamstring is the back of the leg.

We're not in deep yet, just have to wait for the MRI. I don't think it can be THAT bad because it looked like he was walking around just fine after it.

But yes, if he goes down, we're screwed.

If for some reason it's very serious, there are a few decent goaltending choices out there. Biron, Roloson and Raycroft (hahaha) come to mind. Not the playoff tested caliber that Hasek is, but all it takes is a goalie to get hot...

Roloson and Toskala are my top choices. Toskala is a risky choice, but he has the ability and just needs a chance.

The last home game vs Ottawa (which I attended) all I remember about him was the crowd singing this sweeet song "HASSSSSSEEEEEEK"..."HAAAASSSSSSEEKKK"...

Speaking of Raycroft, I suppose his struggles this year should warn us about being TOO sold on Lundy just yet.

If I remember correctly, he was mostly a Thrasher?

And it's why the team should be no rush at all to trade Montoya.

Yeah, not unless you're getting something as good or better than what Montoya could become, like a #1 center or #1 Dman.

Let's say the Sens needed a goalie. Would you folks be willing to give Weekes for Neil?

No. If you trade Weekes, you haveto get an established NHL backup in return.

And that trade would mean that this team will have too many forwards.

For anyone who might be wondering if he pulled the hamstring or the groin, keep in mind that he could have pulled both the groin and hamstring. I have done it before in soccer and hockey. Your whole leg can tighten up and its the worst pain. Hasek has had injury problems in the past and I believe some of them have involved his groin. This could turn into a huge problem for Ottawa.

It's not groin injury(he had probs with groin in past), it's muscle injury...they give him 30% to start in Olympics again.
Elias is also injured, rib injury...but this should not be tough one...
Hasek injured, Elias injured...great start to tournament

Wow lots of former Ranger goalies in Olympics. Muzzati, Yeremeyev, Hnilicka. Just shows you how bad our depth has been the past few years.
