Who should the Habs draft

Name a few players you think the habs should draft....

Depending on who's available, my picks would be at C:

Robert Thomas, skilled gallagher type player

Jason Robertson, big and skilled although foot speed is average

Those are my picks

I wouldn't go for a D unless someone falls who we can't pass on

my darkhorse would be Isaac Ratcliffe, 6'4 skilled winger, skating needs work.

Shoot your suggestions

Tolvanen has been dropping a bit lately. I think we should get Kole Lind. I REALLY want Boqvist and Mattheos wouldn't be bad for our 2 2nds.

I'd see if I can move up in the draft to select Nick Suzuki out of Owen Sound.

If we can use any prospect not named Sergachev, I would move up. I want Petterson more than Suzuki though.

I have seen a lot of speculation of Rasmussen mostly at the 12 spot. Then I have seen a few with him slipping to 19-23.

If he was to slip I would try to move up to get him or like others said move up and get Nick Suzuki as well.

If -- and it's a big if, in that I don't see it happening -- Robert Thomas is there at 18-20 or so, I'd try and trade up and get him. If not, I'd pick Filip Chytil and try to develop him as a center. He's been a late season riser and I wouldn't mind if we targeted some risers.

I don't see Nick Suzuki being there at all when we pick, so I didn't even include him.

This is all depending on if we go center or not. If a guy such as Erik Brannstrom is still there, you've got to take him. Jason Robertson might be an interesting guy, as well, even though he's a winger.

That's immediate fist-pump for a moronic GM and his cronies. I said immediate help, he's bound to do something right a some point even if its by accident.

He already did, Radulov.

Yup. Would be nice to not trade them away for useless players. Boqvist is very very good.

And it's already in the past since his contract expire in ~2 months. So until Radu is actually re-signed he might need to be replaced as well. So no room for improvisation this summer and no need for that pick since it won't help us in the short term.

They also have 3 2nds next year so wouldnt hurt to move a pick or 2 for some immediate help. Although, this year should be a deeper draft..

Honestly, with the 25th pick, all I want is the BPA.

We retain a pick if we don't sign King, correct?

I believe that if we resign King, LA gets a 3rd round pick. If we don't resign him, they get a 4th.

EDIT: I think they are also 2018 picks

The pick is in 2018.

And the conditions are:
If Montreal wins two or more playoff rounds and Dwight King plays more than 50% of playoff games OR if Dwight King is re-signed and on Montreal's roster from July 1 to November 15; the 2018 4th round pick becomes a 3rd round pick.

I always laugh when anyone gets completely anal about BPA.

A lot of times, the margin between two players is so small that drafting for need actually makes sense.
