Don't like his hockey IQ, and I got burned on a similar prospect in Collberg. Looks great vs. his age group, doesn't anywhere else. Has tools but no toolbox or mind to use it properly.

Also, with a bevy of center prospects available around our pick that could be a #2C at the NHL level, id be out my ****ing mind.

I second this.

Otherwise just draft some big ass frenchy Québecois. It's not like we have good player development so if you're going to waste picks and young men's careers you may as well just throw the pick away creating drama at the same time.

Well I disagree on the hockey IQ. And at that rank, with how our mock draft is going, the C's available are Bowers, Poehling, Frost, Norris....not sure any of those guys are worth taking because of our need if he is there....

Unless we're talking about Chytil.....

I'd be happy with Vesalainen, Kostin or Ratcliffe.

Pretty much agree habs prospect pool is abysmal. Personally see them in the 22-27 range out of 30 teams.

Vesalainen is a no brainer for anyone if he gets past 15

Can we trade our 1st round pick for Toronto's management team?

I believe they would pick 23rd if Anaheim wins tonight, or 22nd if Edmonton wins

yeah they pick 31-30-29-28 then the 4 division winner are 27-26-25-24 depending if they make final or not so if Anaheim and Washington win Montreal are 26 cause both Edmonton and Pittsburgh will draft before us but if they both win Montreal are 24

According to this site, the Habs are picking 25th: https://www.prosportstransactions.co...Years/2017.htm

Pretty sure 25th. Such a terrible way to rank the picks.

In the first round? I for one think we go for the journeyman guy who is good at everything but not great at anything. Also I hope he is softer than a babies skull.

Idk why they don't just rank it from standings(lower ranked team gets higher pick) after round 1, then do it again during round 2...etc

So NYR went to round 2 and still pick before us, thats really stupid. We would have been better losing those 3 games against the Sens in March and face Boston. Winning the divison is pretty much a trap.

Geoff has supposedly more influence now as one of the 8 members of NHL's executive committee. Maybe it's time to see how far that influence might go.
