Here's mine from the 1/28 Pens game (7-1 Ranger win).

A bit blurry, my camera isn't the greatest, but just figured I'd share since I have it.

That's the point of the salute: you do it, win or lose, to thank your fans for they're support. It's even more deserved if your fans wher vocal the entire game while you where getting you proverbial behinds handed to you.

Could someone tell me how the salute came to New York or who (coach, player etc) introduced it?

I had no idea until recently that it was done in the NHL until I was at a Sabres game a couple weeks ago (but I understand the Rangers did it first)

A coach/GM of the Guelph Storm introduced it into the OHL about 5 years ago, Guelph still does it, as does that coach/GMs new team. However, Guelph only does it after wins and ties, which I guess is understandable, I wouldn't want to stay on the ice after a loss either.

(Don't mean to start a debate, just curious how it came about in NY)

lol the Sabres.... oh geez. God what an annoying team.

My second fav since I lived in Rochester for a long time, but god.... knock it off with the copying inferiorty deal already.

And I believe it's due to the Czech influence, but I never heard anything concrete about its origin on the team.
