I mean for getting past the second round. We have mastered getting pass the first round. Plus the Preds were the underdog in that series and nobody expected them to get past the Blawkhawks and the Preds seem to play better when they are the underdog and have a chip on their shoulder. They didn't seem to have as much pressure since they weren't the favorites to win to begin w/ in that series. I would say there is more pressure on them for this game/series now that they were picked as the favorites not to mention it's a big game for them to make history and get pass the second round something this franchise has never been able to do. In addition to having some adversity as the Blues aren't just a team that is going to back down easily and plan on trying to win a game themselves.

Flip the lines a bit.

Get Neal with Fisher and Watson, Wilson and Smith back with Sissons, dump Jarnkrok on to the 4th. Either that or elevate Neal or Smith (or both) with RyJo and have Arvy and Forsberg figure out their game on a lower line.

Break up the top line and put them all on their own lines. Something like:

Wilson - Johansen - Neal
Forsberg - Jarnkrok - Smith
Sissons - Fisher - Arvidsson

Or something, idk

Stop with the stretch pass. Just keep in simple.

We're still trying to cycle back to the point like it's game 4, those lanes haven't been available for 4 periods now.

God, that was one awful period of hockey the worst of the playoffs so far. We need to seriously step it up, because we're not playing like we want this game at all.

We have only been in the 2nd round 3 times before and only chance we had to make it past the 2nd round was last year in game 7. You make it sound like we've blown it in the 2nd round when we have never been ahead before until now. We only have 2 guys on the team who have made it past the 2nd round. Fisher and Subban. I think people forget how young this team is.

This has just been horrible so far. No offense whatsoever from anyone. Our top guns look frustrated and defeated.

We need a 5 on 3 PP to score or a soft goal from Allen. Last "good" goal we scored was a week ago. Let that sink in.

The icings are killing the offense. Nashville is playing uphill because of them.

The #1 line needs to stop dangling by the blue line. Drive the net and attack!

This playoff season they've started the games clicking on all cylinders.

Regular season the team seemed to spend the 1st getting into the game and turned it on in the 2nd.

I'm hoping/optimistic the guys can get it rolling in the 2nd.

Somebody sacrifice a goat (or Fiddler) during intermission.

Yet Nashville is down by only one goal.

The ice tilts the other way in Period 2. Take advantage of it!

We can blame the 4th line for the goal but we have gotten no offense at all and time to do some line changes.

We're looking like Chicago...no space in the neutral zone and no offensive opportunities.

Blues have made solid adjustments in their positioning and forecheck and we have done nothing to counter them. Until we change the script, I'm afraid it's going to look like this...they are forcing us to play their game and we are just being complicit in doing it.

All I know is when they start getting nervous or feeling the pressure and ain't relaxed/calm they start playing sloppy, getting frustrated, or gripping their sticks. Our leaders are going to have to calm their team down and tell them to stay focus and that they can do this and just need to get one goal and they are back into this game.

Did we even have one official scoring chance in the period??

And I swear I would almost bet my life that the 3rd D and 4th line were out there for half the period- just feels like everytime I look up they are in- even though it's not really the case

Lineup decisions as well. No need for both McLeod and Fiddler and we keep feeding the Blues just the one dangerous line to stop. Create a speed line with Arvy, a cycle line with Neal, put Watson back with Fisher and then Forsberg can F right off until he decides he wants to play hockey.

Well, the good news is that we can't play any worse in the 2nd. Looked like a bunch of rooks out there.
