Who will Dave grab?

Well I guess we now have to expect Dave will make a move before the deadline and if what we heard is true he will be hunting for a defensive D-man.

FYI, Cale Hulse has been a healthy scratch for the Columbus Blue Jackets. Think about that before casting a vote.

Talk about a "push poll"...
Who do I think Dave will "settle" on? Brendan Witt would be "settling"? Your implication is that there's someone better out there and available that you haven't listed. Do you know a secret?

The "settle" wasnt really aimed at Mitchell or Witt...but knowing that the price for Witt will probably be raised and that Dave wont pay out to get either of these 2, we will probably have to settle for one of the others. I just wanted to see who realisticly still thinks we have a shot at Witt or Mitchell.

The guy to get would be Cullimore. Mitchell wouldn't be available

From tsn:

Quote:
Los Angeles Kings - Reports indicate GM Dave Taylor could be planning to acquire a defensive defenceman like Washington's Brendan Witt, St. Louis's Eric Weinrich or Minnesota's Willie Mitchell. Sean Avery has been mentioned as trade bait, especially with recent arguments with head coach Andy Murray over playing time.

If it is Weinrich it better not be for anything more than Clarke or prospect like him(James, Guerin, Karlsson, Ryan). The 3 Dmen they mention are all different and would cost different amounts. It bothers me that Avery is said to be the one out because AM can't handle the truth from a grunt like Sean. Can we trade AM for Witt and let JR coach?

Ugh, if he trades Avery for Witt, I'm starting a mutiny.

I like how in these articles I have read, Avery is painted as a malcontent who is complaining about icetime. The dude was benched in favour of an AHL scrub when we needed him most! The team was playing with no fire and we bench the one sparkplug that makes things happen? And don't even mention his penalties, his play more than outweighs a few bad penalties.

I would say that he handled the benching better than I thought he would have, did not really make a peep. His 2 games after the benching showed who was the one that needs to go, and its not Avery.

I'd be ok with Clarke for Weinrich. If Avery is dealt, I'm going to start a mutiny. AM would be first to go. ****ing rediculous I'd say...

I just don't like the spin that's going on, like they are trying to get us ready for him to be delt.

Trade him if its going to be a legit upgrade, but don't try to sell us this crap about him being a cancer. If Conroy sticks up for him, I'm sure there are others in the locker room who do too.

One thing you really have to credit our scouts on it telling DT who to trade. Aulni and Anshakov haven't done crap and were traded at the right time
