How about an Olympic Hockey Injury Thread?

Does anyone know who is playing - probably - significantly injured?

Besides Pronger.

Can anyone comment if Hasek pulled his groin? I saw him hurt but have no clue on his status.

How about posting who get's injured and will not be returning to his NHL team in a timely manner.

Hasek and Elias have left the Olympics. Forsberg's status will be known later today.

When you mention Forsberg... you're talking about the current ongoing issue and not something recent right? (please say right)

With the annual Flyers tailspin I kind of don't hang out until it runs it's course and they go back to being an elite team. (10 - 20 games), so I haven't kept up with recent ongoing Flyer issues.

New Jersey defenseman Brian Rafalski did not play for the second straight game with an upper body injury, but Laviolette isn't ready to make a move and bring in either Paul Martin or Hal Gill, the two defensemen on the U.S. taxi squad. Laviolette said that had it been a gold-medal game, Rafalski, a right-handed shot and a power-play specialist, would have played. "We're just going to give it some time," Laviolette said.

Uggh, I hate fair-weather fans. If you were a real Flyers fan you'd stick with 'em through thick and thin.

Peter Forsberg practiced today with Team Sweden and the star showed no ill effects from his nagging groin injury that forced him to miss the team's first two games of these 2006 Olympics. As a result, he will be in the lineup tomorrow at 5.00pm when Tre Kronor plays Latvia at Palasport.

There's a difference between ditching the team (ie saying "Go Rangers" or some such) and not showing up on a message board where after a loss, there's five "Trade Forsberg" threads.

Ok. I don't usually play but I'll bite once.

So if I don't come to this particular forum and read the puss that get's posted every year and every time they go into a slump - I'm a fair weathered fan?

And... why am I not sticking with them through thick and thin? Because I don't want to read what morons post when they go into 'panic mode'? I've spent more money supporting them than you've made living in your Mama's basement.

I've been following this team since 1973. I've seen it all and read it all so many times before. It's redundent. You're tiring. And you're no longer worth it.

Thanks for clarifying my loyalty and contributing to this thread. Take your thread crap elsewhere and shove it until it hurts.

C'mon now. Don't be supersticous.

It's inevitable that players are going to go down. Hopefully no one playing for Philly.

Just don't think delightful evil things about players on competing teams and you'll have no bad karma to worry about.

I'm at work... what happened today?
