Does anyone know ir heard if Stoll will be playing against Calgary?
I don't know, but he'd better be. He's been sitting for too long, and has to play somewhere. He's strong on faceoffs, and could allow Smyth or York to return to the wing, where they perform better, anyway.
Screw it, I'm going to copy and paste yesterday's post:
Is Stoll going to play tonight?
Does he even really exist? Or is he just a name they write on the roster so we think they have a 13th forward? I know I saw him in training camp, but I'm starting to think that someone should file a missing persons report. At this rate he is going to show up to the big autograph session on Sunday without having played a game. I'll bet he'll feel really good about himself when nobody even knows who he is. I have had enough "who's Stoll?" questions when I wear my jersey. I want to see him play a game somewhere, whether here or in Toronto. Sitting this long can't be good for him, physically or mentally.
I hope he draws in tonight, somewhere, perhaps in Pisani's spot, and lines adjusted accordingly. I don't think Fernando's really played his way out of a spot, but he hasn't exactly played well enough to warrant not sitting in the PB either. Even if Stoll only got fourth line minutes playing with Izzy and BG, that'd be better than sitting on his arse all season. I'm sure he's getting pretty impatient by now.
Hrm, I wanted Stoll in, but I didn't think Izzy played his way out of a spot any more than Pisani has. Oh well. Either way, hopefully he'll make the most of it. Hat trick!
Completely agree, Izzy hasn't been living up to training camp expectations, but heck, the first two games, he was playing with a mask...then he gets shoved down to the fourth line playing with two players who have been struggling as well. What gives. I'm glad Stoll gets to draw in tonight, but really he should be down in the minors, getting prime time not rotting away in the press box. He should not be up here unless the Oilers are committed to playing him consistently on a line.
