ZINOVJEV RECALLED BY BOSTON BRUINS
Providence, RI --
The Providence Bruins host a ?Weekend with the Bruins? for the first time in franchise history beginning on Friday night at 7:05 p.m., when the Albany River Rats make their first of two appearances in the Ocean State this season. The Bruins also host the Lowell Lock Monsters on Saturday night at 7:05 p.m. and the Manchester Monarchs on Sunday afternoon at 4:05 p.m. The Black and Gold is off to an unbeaten 3-0-1-0 start to the 2003-04 season and is in second place in the Atlantic Division, one point behind the division-leading Lock Monsters.
Three roster transactions were made today, with two players being reassigned from the Boston Bruins to Providence, and one being recalled by Boston. Second-year left wing Martin Samuelsson and rookie defenseman Milan Jurcina are both expected to be in the lineup on Friday for the P-Bruins. Rookie center Sergei Zinovjev, who had 1-2-3 totals in four games for Providence, was recalled by Boston. Samuelsson, who had 24-15-39 totals and 34 PIM in 64 games last season with the P-Bruins, was scoreless in three games with Boston. Jurcina, a 6?4?, 235-pound native of Liptovsky-Mikulas, Slovakia, did not see any game action while with Boston. He had 15-13-28 totals and 102 PIM in 51 games last season with the Halifax Mooseheads (QMJHL).

At least the two of them will finally get some ice time!
Cool. I don't know what the exact rules are regarding how often a player can be called up, but if they rotate a few of these guys in and out of Boston in replacement/reserve capacities now and then while giving them quality time in Providence, it could be a good thing.
