does lacroix go out..

and acquire more depth for all the recent injuries?

we could use a defensmen to replace mcallsiter who looks like will be gone for quite some time, kariya, hahl, worrell, and svatos appear to be gone for at least 2 weeks or in svatos case the season.

right our depth chart looks like this:

tanguay-forsberg-hejduk
konowalchuk-sakic-selanne
mccormick-nikolsishin-hinote
larsen-moore-cummins

skoula-blake
skrastins-foote
liles-morris

any possible suggestions:

i few i would consider:

claude lemieux
bryan berard
steve thomas

as for possible trades:

bob boughner
nichlas wallin
steve webb

I see no reason to panic this early in the season. Better let the young guys in the organization show what they can do (or can't for that matter).

I think the Avs are fine for the time being.

Unnecessary considering McAllister was being used at forward anyway.

With a bunch of guys down in Hershey who can at least fill the role of depth player, we don't need to make some fill-in measure. The deal for Kono would have gone forward even if Kariya not gotten injured.

I think it's probably more important to have the players that we do have getting used to playing with each other, even if it's not the top squad we can put out. We have a pretty spankin' third line once Kariya gets back and Kono drops down. Nice.

only deal I'd like to consider is to somehow trick someone into taking Skoula for a defensive defenseman. Other than that, last nite was a pretty good effort and I think Konowalchuk with Nikolishin will be a good third line.

It would be nice to see Worrell actually suit up in the regular season and get a shift. That would be like a trade in itself.

Yes they did. On a line with Bondra if I am correct.

Speaking of which, why hasn't Worrell gone on the IR? He has certainly been out longer than 7 days.

They keep thinking he's ready...then on the day he's about to play...during the morning skate, he says "my knee feels sore." Boom...out for the game.

I wouldn't mind Stumpy getting a contract, but other than that, no and no!

ACK...no way...Graves is washed up. I'd rather take Lemieux than him.

Not that I want Lemieux either...

I think these three make a very strong 3rd line. All three will see spot time on the top two lines as Granato sees fit. All are versatile.None lights the lamp too often. All are physical and are not afraid to leave a little blood on the ice. Now if we can get that last line crankin!

K-chuck and Niko had great chemistry together for the Caps and I am sure that was a factor in the trade.

Really?

They never even played on the same line in Washington, though. Andrei Nikolishin was long Peter Bondra's centerman.

No, he didn't.

The only time Andrei Nikolishin and Steve Konowalchuk have even played together was on the penalty kill.

meh, good enough. that's most likely where they'll be most useful on this team anyways...

Well they interviewed Kono on television and he said he was glad to be reunited with his old linemate. I think I'll take his word for it.

How about Skoula to Carolina for Aaron Ward and Kevyn Adams? is that overpaying?

I'd take a leaky water bottle and a roll of duct tape for Skoula...

Why not trade Skoula+ for a young forward and then sign Bryan Berard. Berard looked solid last year.

An offensive defenseman who was a liability in his own end last season?

No thanks. We have enough of those.

I'd consider him an upgrade over Skoula at this point. I am a Skoula supporter, but if we can ship him off for a young forward with good top 6 potential, I say we do.
