Congrats, Edge. As the father of a girl, I can tell you that little girls are much better than little boys. Probably right up until they turn 15. Have you purchased your gun collection yet?
Honestly I must say as someone who is terrified to have a child I have a lot of respect for fathers and everything they do. If you have half the character as a father you show on these boards you'll be a darn good one.

Congrats Edge! I hope you realize though once you have two kids--you have one going in one direction and the other in another. It's a lot harder to keep up with them then.
I worked right up until that day, and I have built up vacation time and sick time (plus we get a nice paternity leave) so I'll be home for a while.
The funny thing is when I signed on today the first thing I commented on was the Montoya/Holt thread and not even about my daughter (still getting used to saying that).
Old habits die hard.
I got lucky too that she was born during the nhl break. Otherwise I'd feel really lost right now.
it took me 8 months to feel comfortable saying wife and stepkid.
But, the games begin tomorrow, so we're expecting you to be back in posting shape. None of this Olympic hangover that whimps like Lundqvist are using as an excuse not to play.
Get those baby skates...I hear the U.S. team could use someone to replace Granato (seeing that this past Olympics she wasn't adequately replaced).
Congrats...here's a little insight, when they're young, they're expensive and a lot of work; when the get older they're a lot of work and even more expensive...just something to look forward to! (I guess that also explains why you haven't bee 'round these parts much lately.)
