I will be at this game (Row 7 Sec. 116) so if I am coherent enough when its over I will try to write a recap.

"Everybody on your feet screaming KILL KILL KILL!!!...This is oldtime hockey"

Well my Tuesday prediction has been right so far - they lost to both Col and StL, so now for the second part to come true - two wins in a row.

Edmonton 5-1

Isbister, Dvorak (2), Smyth, Reasoner
Reinprecht

After being embarrassed two games in a row, Edmonton comes out gunning: 4-3 Oil

Edmonton: Dvorak, Smyth, Horcoff, Brewer

Calgary: Iginla, McAmmond, Betts

All I am going to say is, we had better DESTROY Calgary.

Not beat them, DESTROY THEM. We are the vastly superior team, and need to prove it. If we can score 6 on Colorado at home, doing it against Calgary shouldn't take a miracle. Merely beating them by a couple wouldn't prove anything.

On a more important note, GO YANKEES!

Not to start a big argument or anything, but vastly superior? Better maybe, but not vastly superior.

All I can say is that the Oilers had BETTER win tonight, or this board will no longer be Happy Fun Town.

3-2 Oil, Stoll gets his first NHL goal.

Any word if MAB will be playing?

Not lately

The Flames can not get pucks in nets.

The Oilers can not keep pucks out of nets.

Should be fascinating (or painful) to watch.

In the end I am predicting that the Oilers' ineptitude in defense and goal will give the Flames' offense the help it needs to get out of their slump. Flames 3-1 (with an EN goal).

So how come, with less than 3 hrs till the puck drops, there's no 'sticky' on this thread yet?

Go Oil!!!

Nope. The Oilers come out flat and lose 7-2 to the Flames. After the game Kevin Lowe fires MacT and gives the head coaching job to Billy Moores, trades Mike Comrie and a first round pick to Washington for Bates Battaglia.

Then I wake up screaming.

Seriously though...5-2 Oilers.

I just scored tickets to the game and have never seen a Battle of Alberta (besides Pre-season, which doesn't count)....should be great
Tommy has a good game

Oilers: 4 (Bergeron, Dvorak (2 assists), Hemsky, Laraque)
Flames: 0

This game is a huge one for one Eric Brewer. He has to bring it tonight to prove he is still the same guy we have such high hopes for. If he doesn't, after all the flak he's taken lately, I would really question his intensity and potential future here.

Sounds like Isbister gets the seat tonight. I honestly don't get MacT's rationale... So Izzy is struggling to put up some numbers, and his play has been iconsistant (but not awful), what do you do... sit him out. This is great and should be how a coach meritts ice time but I don't think MacT has given Izzy much of linemates to work with. Eg. Horcoff, Isbister and Laraque are struggling, If you are going to mix up the line up and don't want completely through off your other line's chemistry, why not pair the struggling player with someone who isn't struggling. Pair up Isbister with Hemsky, or Reasoner. IMO Isbister needs to paired up with a play maker (ala Hemsky/Dvorak) he was yanked from the first line way too soon. His play isn't improving because he's playing with Larque, who this year has been inconsitent as well (if Laraque was going full steam, not a prob), and Horcoff who seemed to have lost his edge.

Team decision, he drew the short straw.
It could have been any one of a number of Oilers who took the 'public flogging', such as it is.
I'm hoping he uses this perspective to come back with a vengance.
I agree that he needs to be with talent to be effective, but he has to work his @$$ off to get there and stick.

3 fights, not even a mintue into the game. Someone/something fired this team up. Maybe MacT going to the papers was the right move

I'm not impressed.

3 straight power plays, all 3 were CRAP.

Right now, the Oilers look like they're afraid to make a mistake. They look VERY tight.
