Anyone ever think maybe JOrts has been fooling us this whole time and all these proposals have been jokes?

Thanks, pld.

I had no intention of embarrassing jorts (and if I did, I apologize).

He's a great Ranger fan and a very decent guy. He's always been nice to me from way back.

I would enjoy his trade ideas more if it wasn't the same players leaving the Rangers in every one. At the same time it's hockey and entertaining so I read em..........this is a msg board and he isn't breaking any rules.

Yes JOrts' trade proposals are (usually) absurd, but they are strangely compelling . . .

I didn't think I was saying that at all, in fact I agree with you
that slats would trade injured players, just not sure who would trade for
an injured Lampman who is a free agent at years end(if I remember correctly).

Its all in good fun with JO14, anyone who thinks we're embarrassing him is taking it too seriously. JO14 sparks alot of debate and is easilly one of the better younger NYR posters around -

I might add that the type of player JOrtmeyer has been imploring the Rangers to obtain for at least the last 3 or 4 years have been 3rd and 4th line gritty grinders.

Fact is, when the Rangers finally did obtain them we finally have a good PK and a group of bottom 6 players that Jagr has said is the best he's ever played with.

Don't underestimate that group's effect on the more talented top 6 players. They energize the whole team.

Because this year is completely different than last year. The Rangers weren't going anywhere (they were already out of the playoffs) when they traded for Betts and they could afford to wait for him to get healthy. This year who(m)ever they trade for needs to make an immediate impact for the trade to be successful. The Rangers may trade an injured player (although Lampman doesn't have any real value so don't expect it to be him), but they will not be receiving any back this time around.

It might help if you got his name correct JO41. I realize the value in humor, especially with JO41 tradeing everyone everywhere. I love locker room humor, I just thought it was getting a little personal. JO41 brings great comic relief to the boards.
