big mistake not starting henke in this one this game is huge and to give a number one goalie a week off between starts screws with their game just too much time off

Yep, we should play Lundqvist in the huge game. He'll have a lot of games off since Sunday. Enough games. I don't like giving points away especially to division rivals.

Orr has to play just to keep Huggybear Breashear from running our players. Strudwick cant do all the fighting by himself. Orr has done well when he played. Im guessing the lines will be

Straka Nylander Jagr
Rucinsky Rucchin Sykora
Nieminen Betts Ward
Orr Moore Ortmeyer

I hate my damn job, I'll miss this game. Then again I might not want to watch it, if we lose.

Rather have Hollweg in their for physical play or maybe even Hossa, who knows the olympics may have done him well.

What's the word on Jagr's status? Is he 100% (or at least close to)?

I don't have a good feeling about this game.

Nevertheless, great to have NYR back. Lets go Rangers!

http://www.nypost.com/sports/rangers/64520.htm

Blair Betts plans to make his first appearance in the lineup when the Rangers travel to Philadelphia tonight. Betts has been out since Jan. 7 with a strained left MCL.

Darius Kasparaitis (fractured toe) was unable to skate yesterday. He expects to play tonight.

As a precautionary measure for Kasparaitis, the Rangers yesterday called up defenseman Thomas Pock from Hartford.

I would say he is well rested and 100% and very excited to get back to playing Ranger hockey:

"... Maybe I'm going to change my mind (about the national team) in four years, but my whole goal is here. The Stanley Cup, here in New York."

"I might be even more excited than before I went to the Olympics," Jagr said after his first Rangers practice since returning from Turin. "I'm glad I'm here. I'm happy to be here."

That is true, just didn't even factor in that hes still gone for a little. Brain freeze, really.

But that would be my regular lineup when he does in return.

Niemo-Betts-Ward for the 3rd line then, they worked well together early in the year.

No School here, also!

Not that I'm against Orr playing in this one just because of Brashear but it's doubtful that he'll get as much ice time as Brash unless we're getting blown out--so his ability to stop Brashear from running our players is going to be limited. Anyway do you really think that Donald is not going to finish his checks because Colton is (or maybe isn't) in the lineup? I don't think so. Anyway they met up once this season and Colton was more or less just holding on. Hopefully if they do meet tonight Colton will show a lot better.

I sit here and hope this thread doesnt turn into a "Colton must play" or a "We will get hit out of the building " thread....

This games been a long time coming. Niemo-Betts-Ward, would be a good third line. Would like to see Lundqvist in net, but hope Weekes can hold it together and play well. If Kasper can't go I guess we'll see what Pock can do. Rather see Hollweg than Orr on the 4th line. This is a must win and 2 huge points for NY.

So Gagne somehow has a hurt knee from a clean hip to hip check?

That is correct, same with Prucha (although it was not a hip check).

I was wishing we could have Lundqvist in net for us.. was really hoping to see a Niittymaki vs. Lundqvist goalie matchup Part. II. We all know how the first one turned out.

Oh well, just glad the boringlympics are OVAHHHH!!

So Jagr's happy eh? Expect to see atleast 3 points from him.

I predict 4-5 Rangers win.

Forsberg (1goal)
Knuble (2goals)
Pitkanen (1goal)

Jagr (2goals)
Sykora (1goal)
Nylander (1goal)
Ward (1goal)
