Last season Havlat was the 3rd line RW. But thats because Hossa and Alfredsson were teh other 2 ahead of him.

This season, Heatley can play LW, so Havlat is the 2nd line RW behind Alfredsson.

Conroy has gotten to a Game 7 of the SCF, Havlat hasn't come close.

Outside of St Louis, where he was a checking center Conroy's playoff PPG is .65

Good night now!

Anyways, Ottawa has plans to build around Havlat, no point in throwing that plan out the window at this point. Personally, i dont think Ottawa needs to make any trade other then for a Goalie.

Yea, Scorers and Gritty players.

Conroy is clearly the latter. We got plenty of players like that.

We need players who put up the points. Havlat does it better than Conroy.

And again, you clearly have no comprehension of any player that plays beyond your bedtime.

...and you do???

I think some of my fellow Sens fans might underrate Conroy here, but if this deal were to actually be proposed, Dave Taylor would be all over this. Havlat is better then Conroy IMO and his upside is much, much higher then Conroy's. From an Ottawa perspective, getting Conroy to play with Havlat would be the most ideal situation, but to give up Havlat to get him, no way.

Conroy is both. A Selke finalist and a PPG guy.

Then why is Havlat being outscored by Conroy? Why has Conroy made it furthur in the playoffs?

Why does Conroy have a .65 PPG average when used on the top 2 lines, while Havlat has a 0.51?

I can't believe Kings fans are telling us what players are needed to win. Where exactly have you guys been?

Yes, let's judge off Havlat's 16 games. That surely means he's the lesser of the two.

Havlat has never been on the top 2 lines before this year. He did all that while on the 3rd line.

If Conroy is so much better, then why do you want to trade him????

Answer that first.

When it comes down to brass tacks he has played 16 games and has 14 points.

well then, keep him, we'll keep havlat, and when Havlat get's less points in the playoffs then Conroy, i will make my sig read

"Conroy is a much better player the Havlat and i was so very very wrong"

Until then, Ottawa is not trading apple for apple.

I can't believe this has even developed into a discussion where Havlat is being compared to Conroy. They are from different planets, and its insulting to Havlat to make the comparison.

QTF MATES!?

Anyone who classified Conroy as "checker" loses credibility immediately. Just because the guy can defend and grind in the corners doesn't mean he's a checker.

How on earth with a strait face can you say good luck to havlat for frolov then suggest that a conroy havlat deal is closer. How much of a homer are you exactly.

How about Frolov for Schaefer? See how ridiculous that sounds.

Open yuor eyes.
Career PPG

Havlat 0.78
Conroy 0.59

Career playoff PPG

Havlat 0.51
Conroy 0.4

Havlat's got only 32 goals less than Conroy in 373 fewer games played. Stick to intangibles or something cause there is no way you can base a Conroy>Havlat argument on stats.

Open yuor eyes.

I agree with you

Havlat is better, younger, better in the playoffs, RFA, ect.

All that for a 2nd round pick?

Ya right.

Im not saying Conroy is a bad player. I would love to have him, but he not even in Havlat's league.

I agree that trading Conroy for Havlat is a mistake. But all the Conroy like players on the Sens aren't nearly as good as Conroy himself. I like Smoke, I really do. He is a decent player with an all around game and he is liked in the dressing room but Conroy is far, far better than Smoke. If we could trade Smoke and a prospect like Bochenski and say a 2nd or 3rd round pick to get Conroy I'd do it. Conroy is awesome as a scoring/checking line centre. I could see LA passing on trading Conroy as next year or the year after he will still be a good player. But if they are wiling to go for the future and take Boch and Smoke for Conroy I am all for it.
