Not sure what kind of trade would make sense to get him given what is going on in Atlanta this season. But putting that aside for a minute, is there any interest in a player like Patrick Stefan as a 2nd line center? Is he Stumpel Pt II? I would have to guess that the trade value for him is fairly low, except of course that they really can't deal centers right now.

No, I don't think so....IMO it would just be a waste...

If the Bruins were going to trade for a #2 centre I would be looking at the Oilers and Mike Comrie. Depending on the asking price, of course

How about Espen Knutsen?

Espen has to be available from the Blue Jackets wouldnt you think?

A fresh start in a new enviroment?

Bad thoughts? Good second line punch with Samsonov..

In place of who? Espen Knutsen is the type of player you bring in when your number two guy gets injured, not the type you rely on on a consistent basis.

Good question. Yeah, the timing is not right with the Bruins winning and all, but when you think of the potential mass exodus at season's end with the Bruins pending UFA's, it's not a bad idea to think long term. Stefan has great #2 center potential. I think he goes on the list with Connolly, Comrie and Vasicek, young centers who have yet to reach their vast potential.

Last season, Stefan had made enormous progress. I haven't seen him play this season, but if he's been able to continue where he left off, then Hartley should have the 1-2 punch he desires in Savard-Stefan. All in all, from what I've read, he's still valuable to the Thrashers. Unless they had a replacement it would be a hard to consummate a deal. I think he's a good target though -- big guy who can power with his skating, very good passer, willing to go to the net -- great attributes for a #2 Center. Of course, Bergeron has great attributes too...

Stefan

Atlanta has its problems with the loss of forwards Stewart and Healty. So, I don't believe its in a position to trade such a valuable commodity, even though it's off to a good start.

From a Bruins perspective, having given away our #2 centre, the team would look to Sergei Zinovjev and Patrice Bergeron Cleary first, IMO, before looking elsewhere.

It doesn't look likely at this time

I say NO to a move for Stefan at this time...not sure Atlanta would want to move him "now" anyway.

For the Bruins to obtain Comrie would cost alot and then...who sits out?
I say while Comrie would help wouldn't it be wise to see what we have in both Bergeron and Zinovjev 1st?
It's not like we are running with no depth at center now with Thornton/Rolston/Green/Bergeron/Zinovjev and the 4th liners Donato and Grosek as well.

I say that Edmonton would want Boynton for Comrie...the Oilers could use a little more on the blueline.

I say no to the loss of Boynton as well.

Would you do a Gill/Morrisonn for Comrie deal?

I still say we should stick with what we have for now!

I wouldn't mind the trade, We have pretty good D, and Comrie would be a great #2 center, I would not give up Boynton for him though
