I have a feeling that the intensity will be there again tonight, but im gonna go ahead and predict a tie. 2-2 with mika in net. If they win then the road trip will be succesful because I honestly dont see them winning in CO so a win or a tie would be good and playing just about 500 hockey on this roadtrip is acceptable.

Goals by drury and brier tonight.

federov and prospal for ducks.

Listened to a bit of the game

on the radio last night. sabes sounded pretty good. Ah yes, the old Jeckyl and Hyde syndrome. Sometimes it does take a humiliating loss to get a fire lit under some players arses. (Notice the number Colorado did on Edmonton last night - that was men against boys).

As such. with the momentum, I will say Sabres win a low scoring one, 1 (or 2 ) to 0. Pyatt gets the game winner. (A little confidence may do wonders for the kid!

Good luck tonight.

you may get your wish, according to hockeyinformer.com Biron is the probable starter tonight against the ducks. I however still think its going to be Mika since Ruff is known to switch goalies on back to back games.

Don't you mean they need to quit switching goalies after he does a poor job?

So far this season Ruff has always given a goalie the next start after a good performance.

I really hope the Sabres continue to play the way they did last nite. I don't want another up-and-down week where they play great one day and terrible the next. This team is too good to be pulling that crap. They need to step up and play like they should. Go Sabres. (4-2 over the Ducks tonite.)

I just hope Mika doesn't get buried on the bench for a month because of one bad period against Vancouver, a disaster he's probably least responsible for. I wish Ruff would ride him for a month so we can see what he's really got.

And every 2nd game has been awful:

Miller vs. Isles 6 goals allowed
Noronen vs. Vancouver 3 goals in 1 period
Biron vs. Edmonton 4 goals allowed

Put Mika in.

The ducks have been struggeling lately, and so has jiggy. So I think this game will be a tie 4-4, and I thought I heard Biron will get the start tonight on the simoncast.

Maybe the Ducks have "Stanley Cup Hangover" like the Sabres did when they went to the finals.

I'll take Buffalo 4-2

1-0 buffalo on goal by pyatt, not on this goal but later in the period you can see how there is chemistry between pyatt and drury. it is so obvious that drury is helping develop this kid. You can see how getting pyatt off a line with connolly and brown has helped. im sure brown has helped teach him a bit of defensive hockey but drury you can see has helped give him confidence to go to places on the ice and expect a pass to create a scoring chance, like when he went through the middle split the D and had a small break away that caused a penalty. Though he didnt score you can see that something is clicking and thats something positive to build on.

end of first, lets hope they can keep it up, i think fatigue may catch up in the ensuing periods so it will be up to Biron to stand tall.

Great start to the game!!

Pyatt is a FORCE.. great goal! Great hustle.. gotta love that penalty he drew near the end of the first period..

Zhitnik's been throwing the puck at the net which is nice to see..

Biron made a very nice lateral save and has looked good thus far..

The defense is playing awesome as well!

1-0

Keep it up!!

I've got to admit, Biron looks like he has his head in the game, I hope he can keep it up in the 2nd and 3rd, he's playing solid, as is the team.

I'm proud of you

And I agree.. I hope he keeps this up..

His record vs the Ducks is impressive too.. 3-0.. (2 shutouts)

Let's go Sabres.. if they maintain this level of play and get some of the injured bodies back.. they could beat any team on any given night.. this type of play gives them a great chance to win

BTW: Peters knows how to play the game.. I like the way he plays when he isn't kicking ass.. too bad that Garrett guy is scratched

Pyatt is impressive and Fitzy is holding his own as the #2 D-man. Patrick can still play too. Campbell needs to stay on the bench.

those 2 goals werent Birons fault, coverage was good, as Jim Lorentz said is was a superior play/pass by the ducks on their first goal. The second goal was just bad luck, first of all I didnt even see satan do any obstruction hooking so there should not have been a penalty, just a bad break off of fitzpatrick. If we can get a powerplay or two we will tie and/or win it in the 3rd.

I'm always right...except for those times I was wrong. what? exactly.

The line with Pittis on is creating a good forecheck, if I were ruff I'd put them out there for a few more shifts this period as I would suspect their legs fresher.

Pleased with the effort so far, just a big feeling it will come down to special teams.

Don't worry Bironsgirl, Biron has played spectacular so far, and I dont say that much at all, so if he can keep it up and the team play the way they are there is no reason to leave without atleast 1 point.
