I think SSK could end up with a whole line and a D-pair. They will have a few players on the roster thats for sure.

...

Personally I think Alexander Täng and Pierre Johnsson among defenseman and will play in J-WC. Among forwards im certain that
Nicklas Danielsson and Patrik Blomdahl will play.

Maybe even Thomas Skogs.

I would expect Andreas Frisk, AIK to be in the squad.

Christopher Heino-Lindberg is being bombarded with shots in Vallentuna and he´s is doing a pretty good job for an 18-year old kid playing for the worst team in the league. He´s averaging 38 shots per game and has a shot-percentage of 89,3 in a league that clearly is a lot better than J20 SuperElit.

I would select him to the squad along with Nilstorp without hesitation, the other contenders (Lundström, Fagerström etc.) have been somewhat off this season.

I remember reading in some paper (could have been Expressen) that three of the players that currently play in NA never responded when asked to play some upcoming tournament and therefor they will not be picked on the roster for the WC. I know it was Jonas Johansson and Marcus Jacobsén, just can't remember who the third player was. Maybe Gustav Engman?

I'm not so sure Sweden can afford not to have Jonas Johansson on the team. Also I'm not sure I trust Expressen that much when it comes to hockey...

Seiza's right

According to www.jatkoaika.com's tournament article Team Sweden's management has told that there will be only 2-4 changes from Mikkeli's roster to final team for the WC. No players will come from NA, all players will be taken from Europe. Propably because of the reason Seiza told above.

Is Misha Joukov not elligible to play for Sweden, or is he not good enough?

well, the last thing I read (here at Hockey's Future) actually.. Joukov was hoping to play with the Russian national team. Had he been a Swedish citizen I'm pretty confident he would have made the team.

2-4???
That doesn´t sound too many.. that can´t be right.

There were a lot of players missing from SEL2 and SEL.

Enström, Nilsson, Steen, Frisk, Johnsson, Skogs and Blomdahl.

And now im even not counting the NA-players...

That must have been a misinterpretation by that journalist.
NO way.

So will that mean that Marcus Paulsson will be going or not? Since he played with the WJC team last year.

Its a misinterpretion and has nothing to do with reality (im 100 procent sure of this).

Marcus Paulsson has a very good shot at making the team. Same goes for Jonasén. However Johansson will not be picked.

Otherwise it looks like a lot of players from Mikkeli will not make the team which I thought(or knew) from the start.

I thought he was trying to get Swedish citizenship in time for the WJC. Did he change his mind?

Well, according to the article (posted at the oilers page I believe) , YES.
Haven't heard anything in Swedish media about Joukov wanting to play for team Russia.

I've heard that "russian team" rumour too. Don't know what to think about it, but hasn't Mischa been living in sweden for most of his life?

In response to your "4 players to carry the offense" article on EP I'd like to speculate on how the top two lines should be assembled.

I propose:

Eckerblom Steen Nilsson (where Steen & Nilsson will be doing most of the offense and Eckerblom will be the hard working checker)

Danielsson Johansson Eriksson (Fredrik Johansson is a good center with SEL experience and has good chemistry with Eriksson)

Tell me your own thoughts and comments..

I think that the second line you have there is a lock (they played together in Finland recently and did okay).

As for the Steen-Nilsson line I wouldn't be surprised if we found a more physical player on that one. Perhaps Jonasén or Paulsson from the WHL? Steen and Nilsson could use someone with a powerful physical game that would make room for them.

Eckerblom is very hardworking but perhaps they need an even more physical player?
