Sergei Kostitsyn what a great draft choice

Sergei Kostitsyn is a heck of a steal

leads all rookies in the ohl with 73 point in 58 games. He is an 87 birthday though and 3 years older then tavares who is second among rookies.

I have seen sergei play a few times with the london nights and I wouldn't be surprised if he end up being a permanent fixure in the habs line up at a younger age then his brother does.

That being said I still hope his bro will be up full time soon.

Siarhei will likely be back in London next year, while his brother should get more of a shot with the Habs. So it would make sense that Siarhei will be in Hamilton in 2 years, but Andrei likely won't since he would have to clear waivers by then, so it would take a lot for Siarhei to make the Habs over his brother.

But I agree, really good late round pick. Personally I was against it, never understood the brother crazy fans who once we have one we must draft every brother. What a year he's having. Yes he's older and yes he's on a stack London team but lets not forget he hardly spoke a word of English, is new to North American hockey, culture etc.. Plus in his 1st game he had 6 pts, with most of the teams top players still with their NHL clubs, so he can produce with Schremp and others. Next year he should be the go to guy.

Exactly. He came here and it would have been completely reasonable for him to go through a period of culture shock. Andrei certainly had that problem last year, as have many others. The fact that he has just blended in speaks a lot of character and mental toughness, a very valuable commodity for any organization.

He's 17-18 years old..... He's 3 years older than Tavares cuz Tavares is an exeption he's 15 years old....

Next year will only be Anrei's THIRD pro season, so he won't have to clear waivers I think. It is only after three pro seasons that a player must clear waivers, no?

Next year Siarhei will be in London, then the year after I assume he'll be in Hamilton, so Andrei will be with the Habs when his brother is set to join the Dogs, as I was saying to the person who started the thread, it would be unlikely that the younger brother plays for the Habs before the older brother.

But your right it's 3 years, I just don't think you read it right or I wasn't clear enough.

We need to tank the 2008-09 season to get him.

I keep hearing people state that if we came in last place that we would get first pick. Isn't it a draft lottery now or was it like that just for this year?
