I was surprised to see that no one mentioned

that Lindros is injured again. Took a slapper and he reinjured his wrist. Done for the season, needs surgery.

Not really news.

Every year another team gets him, hoping he'll be a little less injury prone and be somewhat close to a player he hasn't been in 5 years and every year he gets a little more injury prone and a lot less productive.

Guess it wasn't just the Rangers "circus" that resulted in his huge slide following the 01-02 season.

I like Lindros, and feel bad but at some point the injuries just get to be too much of the story.

Probably because no one cares.

I'm actually a huge Lindros fan, but he's unfortunately VERY injury-prone. It's just oen of those things, some athletes seem to have a knack for getting injured. It's a shame, he could have been a great player if he had stayed healthy...

His brother's career wa short lived. Still it is a shame to see an athlete have to struggle with injuires throughout most of their career when all they love to do is play.

Wasn't he actually playing decent at the beginning of the season?

Then he screwed up his wrist and that's kept him out a long *** time. Same injury or did he come back and reinjure it?

Bummer I guess, can't say it surprises me. He's just cursed it seems.

Lindros was a monster that first season we got him, when the Rangers were somehow in 1st briefly at one point in December. Then of course the Rangers faltered as usual, and he got concussed on the West Coast trip. He was never the same, though he played well at points in the last season he was here.

I think he needs to retire.

It plays on your heart when you're constantly hurt like that; one minute you're elated because you're healthy again, and the next minute your groin tears in half and you're done for the season.

Ugh...memories I wish I could have erased...I'm sure Big E feels no different.

I'll never change my name though!

Reminds me of the last few seasons Richter played. It's a shame when a player is forced to quit due to injuries.

Unfortunatly even before the injuries he wasn't becoming the next one everyone thought he was going to be, the injuries just kind of made the fall even harder.

He was very good in his first season, not necessarily great. He was an above average scorer, though not at the top like he once was and he was a shell of himself as a physical force. From there it only went downhill. I was never as impressed with his last season here and some, but now it's just becoming hard to watch. You don't want the poor guy to be a cripple, but it just seems like he's nearing the end. His success really depends on him playing physical, but he just can't do that anymore. So you're left with an injury prone 20 goal, 40 point player and that's just never going to be enough for a guy who was supposed to Mario, Wayne and Mark rolled into one package.
