Senators @ Canadiens - October 25th, 2003

The Ottawa Senators will travel to Montreal, and in doing so will look to knock off a Canadiens team that is still riding high after a 3-0 Victory in which Jose Theodore claimed his second shutout.

Game Time: 7:00
TV: RDS, SRC, CBC (except ONT. and NFLD.)
Radio : CKAC, CJAD

Starting Netminders: Jose Theodore (4-2-0, 1.34 GAA, .936 SV) vs. Patrick Lalime (4-1-0, 1.38 GAA, .943 SV)

Canadiens Line-Up:

#81 Hossa - #71 Ribeiro - #20 Zednik
#73 Ryder - #94 Perreault - #82 Audette
#38 Bulis - #90 Juneau - #24 Dackell
#37 Sundstrom - #22 Begin - #17 Ward

#79 Markov - #52 Rivet
#44 Souray - #5 Quintal
#51 Bouillon - #43 Brisebois

Senators Line-Up:

#19 Schastlivy - #21 Smolinski - #9 Havlat
#15 Schaefer - #39 Spezza - #11 Alfredsson
#26 Varada - #14 Bonk - #18 Hossa
#20 Vermette - #22 Van Allen - #25 Neil

^ Note : This was the Senators line-up on Thursday vs. Washington. Bonk may be out due to his wrist.

Canadiens Scratches:

# 15 Langdon (groin), #25 Kilger (eye), #65 Hainsey(healthy), #88 Higgins (sent to Hamilton), #11 Koivu (knee)

Senators Scratches:

#12 Fisher (injury), #28 White (shoulder), #24 Volchenkov (head?) ?, ?, ?

Key Questions:

- Is Saku Koivu's injury worse than we are being told? Or, is Bob Gainey showcasing someone while dreaming of Denis Gauthier... #37 anyone?
- Does Donald Audette's ice time take a hit after a few less than stellar efforts?
- Who will win the battle of the goaltenders? Theodore or Lalime?
- In the battle of two brothers, can Marcel come out on top?
- Will Anton Volchenkov be in the line-up after suffering an injury for the Senators?
- Can Habs right-winger Niklas Sundstrom show enough to stick in the line-up? Or will he continue to be outworked by fellow Swede Andy Dackell?

Match-ups
- Bulis, Juneau et Dackell vs. Schaeffer, Spezza, et Havlat
- Hossa, Ribeiro et Zednik vs. Hossa, Bonk, et Alfredson
- Theodore vs. Lalime
- Markov vs. Redden
- Zednik vs. Hossa
- Souray vs. Chara

Habs to Watch:

Wow jl. you're doing a fantastic job here.

I'm predicting a 4-3 Canadiens win. I don't know why, it's just a feeling I have.

....

Francis Bouillon will be scratched while Ron Hainsey takes back his spot in the lineup.

Also I heard somewhere Nik Sundstrom will be playing for sure and correct me if i'm wrong but I think Jason Ward will not be playing.

2-2 TIE

Goals:

Brisebois
Juneau

and

Alfredson
Redden

Any word on when Langdon is going to get back in action? Looking forward to seeing him, although it'll be hard to find a spot for him in the line-up.

My prediction:

Habs return the favor: Canadiens 5 - Senators 2.

Habs goals: Ryder Audette Sundström Bulis and Brisebois (2 assists for both Koivu and Perreault)

Sens goals: Havlat and that other Hossa.

Obligatory smiling face:

very nice job on this thread...

I personally think that the Sens will bring the Habs back down to earth tonight with a 6-2 win...but that just me...I'm a Sens homer...

Have a great game tonight...may the best team of the night win!...

Sens 3-2 win in OT. The "Saku" factor will be a huge lift for the Habs and this will be a close one, but I still factor in the incredible speed, transition game and offensive abilities of this Sens team and figure they can expose the Habs slower D moreso than our previous opponents.

I personally hope I am wrong though and les Boys win, but the Sens are also coming in on quite a roll themselves.

Well Bouillon is definately much more physical than Hainsey, and currently is a better defensive defenseman

I am sure Hainsey will be a very good defenceman for the habs in the near future, but Bouillon in the lineup makes our d that much more physical
