The GOOD:

-Gaustad's physical play.
-Briere getting his nose dirty all night and chipping in 2 more assists.
-Hecht dominating in all zones.
-Roy leading Sabres forwards in ice time for the 8th consecutive game.
-Vanek making a living in front of the opposing goaltender...I love it.
-Millertime, not a sensational game, but solid nonetheless.
-Pominville's laser to the top shelf.
-The defense was very good for the most part this evening, Mckee was awesome adding another 5 blocked shots to his league lead.
-Tim Thomas' save on Drury and Stuart's physical play.

The BAD:

-Poor officiating.
-Pyatt was off. What's wrong with this guy's confidence?
-Kotalik was OK I guess, but still rather annoying to watch.
-Maxim didn't have his best game tonight.
-The Bruins lack of anything special outside of Samsonov and Bergeron.

The UGLY:

GO SABRES!

The Good -

- Closing the gap to 4 (again) on the idle Sens.
- Moving up on the Flyers/Rangers in the fight for 4th.
- Another 1-goal win.
- Coming from behind. Again.
- Seeing the pointmen produce on the powerplay. Poms laser wrister and Big Al's shot-pass to Vanek for the deflection are things they missed the other night, that production from the forward on the point.
- Al had a much better game, including the assist (his 9th in 12 games) and a couple of strong takeouts. He was involved, which they need for the Drury line to get any offensive chances. Thomas made an awesome save on his redirect too.
- Pyatt-Gaustad-Pominville spending time in the Bruins zone. They worked some good low cycle and the forecheck was strong almost every shift. Kudos to the 4th line.
- Hecht-Briere-Dumont clicking again. Dumont in particular was a real pest tonight -- finishing checks, winning one-on-ones for the puck and being his usual Chinny self.
- Much better defensive effort and minimal times Miller was forced to make mad saves.

The Bad -

- The Jurcina goal was one I'm sure Miller would like to have had back
- Again going down early. I much prefer the "jump out early and never look back" to the "come from behind" method.
- Wondering how tackling can not be a penalty. This was not a Pats-Bills game, so anyone tackling anybody should've been in the box. For both teams.
- Fitzie looked like a man who knows he has to make an impression or else he may not be on the ice any longer. And too bad the only impression I was left with was "Christ, he did it again" on the hooking calls.

The Ugly -

- How the next couple games head-to-head could go if they continue to play a little bit of a physical game.
- That was far and away the worst game I've ever seen Brian Leetch play. Turnovers, turnovers, turnovers... And it wasn't the sort of thing that age is going to cause -- he was forcing things left and right. The curiousity I'm sure will be if he was thinking about the possibility he could be in another city, wearing a different jersey (say a Blue one) by Thursday night?
- What bet did Sylvester lose to wear that buffed, high gloss camel coat? Man alive, that was hideous.

What did Briere do? I would sooner expect assault and battery charges against a mosquito.

That didn't actually happen tonight, it was replayed from a few years ago when they played the Bruins. I remember it because I was at that game, which the sabres also won.

Accidently hit Thomas while skating past. His stick ran up along Tim's helmet and it came off. Boynton then took a poke at him and got sent off as well, negating their chance at tying the game. Nick was off tonight -- not like he couldn't get a name and number and pay the guy back in any of the three remaining games they have this month.

It was old, because the two players in the video clip were wearing black shirts. Boston was wearing the road whites tonight.

This is totally the Bruins announcers that do this to fans watching on NESN. What a bunch of sheep. Every game, every time the Bruins fall behind in a game, and things don't go their way, the play-by-play and color guy start complaing and whining about the opposing team.

It's sooooooooo annoying. And the worst part is that I have to watch these chumps three more times this month...

I totally agree Chain, however, I think this will make them a better team in the long run. Come playoff time, they won't panic down 1-0 or 2-0 in the first period.

And here I thought the winning streak in December was good for that lesson. I'm more interested in seeing them hand out another King-style beating or two going through this stretch --- give 'em all a chance to celebrate and rest the key guys.

Another Ugly -

Seeing Drury hobbling again. That collision did nothing for his twonky groin.

That was an exciting game. things between Buffalo and Boston are going to interesting voer the next few weeks. it's like a mini series.

Good
- we skated a great game. all 4 lines were clicking. everyone played great...

Bad
- except Fitzpatrick. he's awful.

Awesome
- all the plays we DIDN't score on... there were some highlights waiting to happen out there.

At least that one fits. That blue one he wears while sitting on that barstool in between periods, he's busting out of. M. Wile isnt that expensive, is it??

I missed the game (wedding anniversary date night at the Sisters of Mercy concert in DC) ...

but good: 1 win away from last seasons point total, with 22 games to play. How 'bout that ****?

Remember back in the preseason, when everyone was all "Hecht - Briere - Dumont, Hecht - Briere - Dumont, Hecht - Briere - Dumont"?

Wellllll... Hecht - Briere - Dumont

The Good

How the numbers can so quickly change from having only 1 win in the last 4 games to having only 1 regulation loss in the last 13. It's all about perspective. I guess that wasn't "the slide" afterall, lol.

The Bad

The emotions of B's fans this morning if the game last night was really as dramatic and dire as the Boston announce team tried to make it. They acted like it was game 7. Yes, you're out of a playoff position but, no, the season is not over.

The Ugly

Brian Leetch. He was awful. I'm glad Sabres' management doesn't get duped into throwing cash at these big name has-beens.
