If that's the going price for a defenseman of that calibre, I'm confident Maloney will be able to find someone. I do like the Carney option.

Good trades for both the Habs & Devs.

Simpson is a great addition for a 6th.

Looking at the Devils trades I think they got hosed on the Klee for Suglobov deal. But I like Lukowich and for a 3rd that's pretty good.

The Isles did fine getting Tambellini and Grebeshkov. I thought Sopel sucked.

Gave up Josh Gratton and two 2nd rounders for him.

Too steep of a price for us and I'm glad we didn't do anything like that.

And I don't consider him "tough" at all. But solid, nonetheless.

Could open the door to Carney being dealt.

Don't like Gauthier going to the Flyers. He's known as a head-hunter. The Flyers overpaid big time though, IMO. Two 2nd round picks and a prospect for a rental? Thats like us dealing Baranka and a 2nd for Gauthier.

Man, I'm still waiting on Witt being dealt. I have a feeling McPhee is asking for too much and no one is meeting his needs, and that he'll just end up taking the best offer like two minutes before the deadline! Also heard that Samsonov and Leetch were not at Bruins practice, but I think Samsonov might be hurting (like always).

defensemen and goalies are HOT. What would it have been like if we had been out of the playoff race. I wonder what we could have gotten for Weekes, Rozival, Poti, Kasperitis, Malik?

I'm thinking about this in two ways.
1. i'm laughing my *** off what Clark shipped to Phoenix for end-of-season-ufa
2. Gauthier is one of the best hitters...Jagr better should keep head up.

A definite sellers market for these guys! Teams are throwing around first, second and third rounders like...candies.

For all the years, all the talk and all the wait, Buffalo gets a 2nd rounder for Noronen.

You'll never convince me that Buffalo made the right choice in sitting on all those goalies.

Good, now we don't have to worry about him becoming a Ranger anytime soon.
