As I posted earlier, I heard Richards was offered for Bertuzzi.

I highly doubt this team is trading Richards. And if they by some odd lapse of sanity decide to, they better get something a lot better then Bertuzzi

Lol! occasionally I offer Brashear in trade proposals to Vancouver as a joke. He is about as welcome back there as he will be here once he is gone.

Please don't say that... don't even THINK it!

This team needs a winger, but not at that price!

There is no way Richards was offered for Bertuzzi.

Esche and Brashear, hunh? I think I saw this at Spectors.

I think the Flyers would have to get an NHL goalie in return as well. But sooner or later the Flyers need to choose a goalie and to get Bertuzzi for those two players would be a great deal. They'd still have picks to go get Weinrich and Parrish.

Sweet.

The latest is that is in fact Esche and Eager, not Brashear.

Has to be brashear because we'd be over the cap if it is eager unless clarke has another trade for us to save money.

How much money are we saving if Johnsson doesn't come back this season?

I don't think that's true. We'd only be on the hook for like $1.4 million or so for Bertuzzi at this point in the season, IIRC. Esche would be @250K. We should have that amount, but I think acquiring Bertuzzi would prevent us from making any other moves.

Someone has to be waived, hopefully Savage.

I heard that even though we only pay berts prorated portion, we still have to count his entire 5+ mill contract against the cap. Anyone able to clear up this confusion?

No way Bert would be dealt for Brashear and Esche. The Canucks would need at least either a top 6 forward or top 4 d-man in return for Bertuzzi.

K, we'll throw in Randy Jones and Brian Savage too.

Didn't you hear? Brian Savage is a first line sniper. Well, at least in Ken Hitchcock's mind he is.

The cap hit would only be as much as the Flyers would have to pay him. So he wouldn't be expensive for this season, although I think there is another year on his contract.

Yea, because a back-up goaltender and a useless "enforcer" is worth Bertuzzi...

The minimum return that I would be pleased with for Bertuzzi would be Knuble and Rathje.
