Excellent.

Edit: However Sopel would seemingly only be of help to the offense...another D-man move on the way?

I know everyone here, including me wanted the Kings to step up, but is this worth giving up Tambellini? I know the forwards are stacked but still...

Parrish needs to be signed

I hate to give up Tambellini. But this move significantly strengthens the Kings for this season.
What's Sopel's contract status?

The depth of the forwards in the organization allowed for someone to get traded, although this isn't what I had in mind.

I don't think Sopel solves any problems. The Kings can put him on the PP, which needed help, but still need help on defense. I hope people don't think Nathan Dempsey is good now

I like it. I'll miss Grebs.. but I like it.

People here kinda gave up on Grebs, but he'll be a good one. So will Tambs.. But the Kings are strong team now.

Wow, by HF standards you guys got reamed and everybody is going to say that you guys got robbed, but at least you have a good chance at the playoffs this year. Hopefully the deal works out for you.

Yes, but looking at a likely early exit. When the team is still supposed to be building from with in, you don't trade away a future 1/2nd liner locked up for cheap, and a 5th/6th d man for a UFA that you're not going to sign, and a defenseman who is overpaid, and can't play defense.

Wow, Tamby going to the Isles is huge!

Do you guys think that maybe Taylor could or might be pushing to maybe snag a big fish down the road via the draft? Maybe along the lines of a Kessel or Toews or Frolik or Mueller?

Also, do you all think that Parrish will stick around awhile or do you think he's a rental?

Giving up Tambs pretty much guarantees he'll be signed. EDIT: I'm not sure if it was in the original article, but it says the Isles also get a conditional 3rd round pick. We can all assume what its conditional upon.

I don't really know if I like this trade. I must say I'm surprised that Taylor finally gave away some prospects. Maybe Im in the minority here but I would have liked to keep Grebeshkov. He's really young and I think he could easily turn out to be a Visnovsky in the future.

This trade should help the Kings no doubt. I hope DT has another trade left in him. I'm not sure what will happen with Weaver & Dempsey one will have to go though.

i would definitely HOPE DT wouldn't be stupid enough to trade for renta player i really think we could've gotten a better return for tambs and grebs though. at least we got a 2nd liner who averages 20+ goals a year

For years the Kings have been looking to "the future". Yes we gave up some future good players, but who's to say that Grebs and Tamms won't flop in the NHL. No one knows. I'm glad DT made this move to strengthen our team. For once DT was thinking about NOW. Parrish is a proven goal scorer and consistent from year to year and Sopel brings a great addition on defence. It's been since '93 and we've been "building" since then! DT you the man for pulling off this trade! GO KINGS!!!

Demetria-Conroy-Frolov
Parrish-Roenick-Cammy
Robitalle-Avery-Army
TK-Parros-(another move maybe by DT)

Lubo-Gleason
Miller-Norstorm
Sopel-Corvo

I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!

I like this trade. Parrish is a proven NHL sniper in his prime. Its about time we moved some prospects for immediate help. Anyway we still have Boyle and Kopitar.

Very happy about Parrish

However, I've heard some bad things about Sopel...maybe the Isles put pressure on DT to take on his contract in order to get Parrish?
