What teams did the two 2nd rounders belong to in the first place?

Then you'll be glad to know the almighty Rangers management offered a 2nd round pick and Ivan Baranka.

Nice trade for the Flyers, they might have given up too much, but considering they did have four 2nd rounders, it really shouldn't hurt all that much.

Yeah, two second-rounders in a so-called weak draft and Gratton isn't too much.

Sort of sucks for non-Flyers fans because this means no more Chris Therien

Definetely a good pickup for the Flyers. Even better if they manage to sign him in the off season. Was hoping the Rangers would get him. Doesn't leave much on the table in terms of tough d-men. Oh well!

I'm not spouting anything, search the internet for yourself if you care so much. I just thought it was interesting. People claim the Flyers overpaid, there could've been a bidding war and they came out on top.

Hahaha, you're trying to prove a point that they didn't overpay by making a claim and you can't even provide a link to your claim? You're the guy who stated that they offered that. Now if you can't back it up than it's pretty obvious you are talking out of your ***.

I don't doubt that they would've offered that since it's the deadline bidding war, but if you're going to make a claim than back it up or delete your post.

Sorry, but I don't have to go and find anything. It's your job to provide the link if you feel like prooving that you aren't talking out of your ***.

Where are The Blues in all of this?

Imagine what Eric Brewer would be worth if the Gauthier deal is the measuring stick!

A seventh rounder perhaps?

Haha! How about if philly gives up Brashear, or Therrien straight up? Maybe both?

Folks, the code is not a reputable source. Please do not post his blog, plus it is also evading the filter. This includes RUMORS.

Don't make me have to hand out warnings on Christmas in March.

It was RUMUORED that the Yotes wanted Baranka and a 2nd for Gauthier but that the NYR's refused and although I think he'd be a great upgrade for the NYR's if that indeed was the asking price then I'm glad Slats refused.

If they throw in Knuble as payment for us taking Brashear & Therrien I'm OK with it.

Maybe you guys ought to take it to PMs. We don't really want to read you yell across the hedges at each other.

------------------------

The Flyers needed a defenseman, they got one. I don't really know if they paid too much, but I'm pretty sure that they're really be in a pickle if they failed to acquire him because they wanted to negotiate.

The Flyers added two players for three picks, didn't touch any of Carter, Richards, Umberger, Picard, Potulny, Ruzicka, Houle, Beachaumin, Downie, and still have picks in all rounds (including two in Round 2). That's pretty good.

When Witt costs a 1st and Kris Beech - this deal looks like a steal. And he's much better than Lukowich btw
