Recchi to Carolina
Breaking trade just now.
Obviously to replace the injured Cole, so I guess we ain't getting him afterall. I'd expect him to be back in Pittsburgh next season though.

can't share your enthusiasm, if we get another scoring winger great, if not, then we let an opportunity go

Recchi is null and void come playoff time. Though Carolina just ensured they will win the conference.

So is that for us or is Clarke going to pull something else off?

I think it would have taken umberger to get him. Again. Clarke has no bargaining power here. Everyone in the league knows how badly the Flyers need a winger.

Nobody is done until 3:00, or unless they make a great move. Clarke will be on the phones until 2:59, hopefully trying to get Tkachuk.

I'm glad we didn't trade for Rex, actually.
I don't want him.

Great, he can ruin the chemistry of another team instead of the Flyers.

Im a little upset. I really liked Recchi as a Flyer and still like him now as a player. If all it took was a 2nd rounder then I don't understand why we didn't get him. I have a feeling PIT didn't want to send him here for some reason, even if just for the season.
The other reason could be that Clarke is working on someone better and both guys wouldn't fit into the cap. If the day ends and clarke doesn't add a winger, I wont be happy with his performance today. Fingers crossed.

I will be intrigued to see how Recchi works out. We were calling him "retread" here but all of the hockey sites seem to think it was The Deal of the Day.
And jeez how nuts must they be going in Toronto????

He was a leading scorer on the Flyers last season and came up with all of 6 points in 18 games in the playoffs. 4 were goals. 1 win away from the SCF and all he did was 6 points? Oh, and -3.
It may have been "The Deal" but it sure ain't a guarantee.
