I feel the same way. Jordan Staal has been struggling offensively recently for his junior team. He is considered a raw talent right now including his physical game. To jump right into the NHL, without conquering the junior game is a risk!

Best player available of course but we really need to make sure we draft some size in the forward position. So I'd much rather have Sheppard than Little as we are stacked with mid sized players. Love to have Backstrom though so he could play with Nilsson. Frolik will be around there as well.

We have plenty 2nd line types in our system as well as grinders/character players so its time we made a splash on a stud offernsive player. Short of that we need a #1 D prospect but after Johnson Best Player available comes into play as outstanding D men are limited. Hate to say it but we need to consider drafting a decent netminder in the next few drafts as well. Not this one though.

we could always take a chance on some guy in the third round with one of our 4 picks.

Chances are you could just sign an undrafted free agent (like Dubiewicz) after the draft if there are no starting potential goalies available. There are usually a lot of these goalies in Europe, and that's where the best goalies have been coming from recently.

We definitely need to add goaltending. I am hoping we add Staal, a physical blueline prospect and spend a 3rd or 4th on a goalie. Who's doing the drafting?

Problem is after roughly the 12th pick this is a weak draft.
