probably one of the better players on defense out there who would have definetaly help this team, plus he has 2 rings. He is now in New Jersey while we still have 2 rookies and Chris Therien on our team.

3rd round pick, hey Milbury, we'll give you 2 of them.

unless those picks are tied up in a bigger deal he's trying to make happen.

Not many guys on defense are out there that are worth even getting. Lukowich is one of them.

You're getting worked up about a nothing special third pairing dman. You have caught HFBoards Overreaction Fever.

oh, i agree... but if you're trying to pull something off that you feel is better and the picks are tied up, what are you going to do?

i'm hoping we pull down Mitchell at this point... then add someone who can help on the wing, be that Rex or whoever. Tkachuk rumors are out there.

I would rather have Lukowich than the terrible mistakes that Jones and Therien have been making. Lukowich won't hurt you, and he has 2 rings. In a market light on defenseman, I can find a spot on my team for him.

I have mixed feelings as they can def use the depth. Maybe they are planning to acquire a better player or maybe Clarke realizes that unless this team is healthy they probably won’t win and will not try to waste some assets and do a band aid type approach. He will get roasted either way however.

Today's St. Paul (MN) newspaper mentions Vancouver and the Rangers as possibilities for Wild d-men Kuba and Mitchell.

I would too, but Brad Lukowich is not the answer. You're getting too riled up about this.

idle is good as long as we don't trade away our future. Active isn't always good.

And so far, the Flyers are still a better team than the Devils, and the Rangers subtracted a player.

That's true, but I think it was demonstrated last night, sans Handzus and Johnsson and Hatcher (and Cole) that the Flyers can hang with the best in the East.

As for the future, one can improve now without huge future impact. The Devils just did so an hour ago.

I think the Devils just passed the Flyers.

I don't see how. A pair of 3rd pairing defensemen isn't the answer for NJ.

The teams were relatively equivalent, then they just added a solid playoff tested stay at home 3rd pairing defenseman.

Not THE answer for them, but better than the moves we've made.

Right on. I'm sure I'm in the minority, but I think this team is turning a corner right now and if they can just get Johnsson and Zeus back heathy, I think they can do some damage come playoff time. The young guys seem to be playing much better now than before the break.

1- Gauthier is a far better pickup
2- Lukowich would never be in philly as long as Hitch is coaching. They HATE each other.

Isn't he filling the role until the end of season or until they find a replacement?
