Most reports also indicate the Oilers were the cause of the delay in the end - but it all started with Boston waiting until late to accept the trade and that throwing the McAmmond deal into flux.
Ok, then I agree to all Bruins fans...MOC SUCKS!
But I don't know, the McAmmond deal was a small trade, you could have done that hours before the deadline, but probably both St.Louis and Boston were interested in the same players and the Samsonov deal was more important for Lowe. So he didn't want to trade away a player the Bruins were interested in. So in the end it is all MOCs fault because he waitde too long
also heard St.Louis. It's funny because on Eklunds site he lists some players that will be gone by the 3pm est deadline, those players were St. Louis, Coju, Witt and another which I can't remember (he has taken it down). I wasn't sure when I first saw it why St. Louis was listed there so I looked into it and read that it was in an offer for Khabi.
I wonder what other pieces were involved. If it was St. Louis straight up for Khabibulin, is it any real surprise that Chicago didn't do it? I certainly would be happier overpaying Nik than Martin.
While not really a trade that fell through, apparently Pittsburgh wanted Downie from Philly.
As much as I hate the kid...I gotta admit, seeing Downie & Carcillo together would be ****ing scary.
“The most terrifying fact about the universe is not that it is hostile, but that it is indifferent. If we can come to terms with this indifference and accept the challenges of life within the boundaries of death, our existence as a species can have genuine meaning and fulfillment. However vast the darkness, we must supply our own light.” - Stanley Kubrick
