Slats / Maloney Name

Everyone knows that Don is running the team but often we write Slats/Maloney.

How about:

Sloney or Malats or Slatsoney

This is a great point by FACEMAN. We really should refer to the two as one. Do I see a poll coming?

Sloney sounds drunk, but I like it. Slatsoney is cool too.

heh...

Sather is doing way more than most of you think.

It's funny how one person says something and you all jump on a bandwagon and think Maloney is defacto GM all of a sudden. Maloney plays a huge role, but Sather is still the brains behind it and was responsible for the Ozo trade. Maloney is just more in the public eye as far as taking interviews and explaining the team's outlook / plan.

Scott Burnside from ESPN disagrees with you. This is an interesting move by assistant GM Don Maloney, who was doing the dealing for the Rangers.

Slats is the GM, Slats always has been the GM. The Rangers might have a very active and important Assitant GM, but that's in part how they hold on to a qualified guy like Don Maloney. Maloney is also the public face of the Rangers, because, let's face it, Sather sucks at talking to the press.
