vokoun for the Vezina?

Vokoun should win the Vezina. I hope he does but doubt he will.

Well, you are with me in thinking this too, but like you said...I doubt he will. Nonetheless, and MVP consideration would be nice!

I agree. Vokoun is a vital part of your team and stops tons of shots every game. It will be a tight race for the Vezina between Vokoun and Kiprusoff.

I don't think Vokoun will have the stats to win the Vezina. I think he'll be 3rd or 4th in most people's minds behind Kiprusoff, Lundqvist, and Hasek (maybe the injury will make TV pass him).

The Preds are tied for 6th in the NHL in points. They would be nowhere near this level without Vokoun. I personally think he's more deserving of consideration for the Hart, but will also not win the Hart, deserving or not, because it will be tough to break through on an award with the media blitz Jagr and Lundqvist will get.

I'd be happy if he would be considered top 3 for either. it'd be a big breakthrough for the franchise visibility-wise.

Kiprusoff does not really have better stats now I find. Hasek and Lundquist do but may not end up playing enough to deserve the Vezina. Fernandez also may not end the year playing enough to deserve the Vezina. All that together is why I think Vokoun should get some real consideration. He faces alot of shots, he plays awesome night in and night out, on his worst nights he is atleast average.

A few more shutouts like the other night should help. I hope he is atleast a top 3 candidate, it would be a disgrace if he is not atleast that. Kariya is the team captain, does he think Vokoun should be considered.

Vokoun certainly deserves to be there. Kipper's got great numbers, but Calgary is a very good team defensively. He's a great goalie, but I don't think he carries the team quite like Vokoun. Vokoun has routinely stolen points while his team was getting outshot by a 2-1 margin. And he's managed to lead his team to a better record to this point.

*looks up Turco's sv % ... yup he's eliminated*

Vokoun, Kipprusoff & Lundqvist should be the Final 3

nor should Kariya be the Captain ... that honor SHOULD go to Sullivan, not some mercinary contract player

no arguements from here....next year I think it will be a tough decision between Sullivan and Walker [presuming he finishes out his contract] and assuming Johnson has begun his financial analyst career....

I back Sully as cpatain next year 100%.

Also, as long as Vokoun keeps playing as he has been all year, he should DEFINITELY be a top 3 finalist for the Vezina.

Too bad it's not decided on sv%
so don't be so quick to write Turco off he is leading the league in wins.
Gerber will have an outside shot.
Lundqvist hasn't played nearly enough Vokoun has out played him by around 400 minutes.

I'm not even sure he's the MVP of his own team.

Best GAA and Save % of any current starting goaltender in the league with over 30 games played. Nice try. What else you got?

Oh, and you're welcome.
