After Everything...It's A Tie.

That's right, after a long winning streak, and in the midsts of a long losing streak, there is now a tie at the top of the Atlantic Division with the Flyers easily handling the Panthers tonight.

Here's the season right now, this is it, everything that happened before this point means nothing at all. It all comes down to the final 17 games. Can they do it? Is this team legit? We will find out in exactly 33 days. This is...The Push For The Playoffs.

If we win the division, our likely opponent is New Jersey. If we finish second to Philadelphia and finish 5th, we'll play Buffalo.

Buffalo or New Jersey.

I honestly don't know who I'd rather face.

Ferocious offensive forchecking team with 4 lines that can score or Martin Broduer and a defensive scheme perfect for the playoffs.

Damn it!

I just took a gander at the standings. In addition to the game in hand, we also have a one point lead.

What is the strength of the remaining schedule for the Rangers and Philadelphia? Can you have that for me within the next 2 minutes?

Or better yet we can finish 6th and draw Philly in the 1st round.

How exactly do the Rangers have a one point lead? It's even, 82, 82.

check out the standings here.

http://www.sportsline.com/nhl/standings

looking at the Rangers and Flyers remaining schedule with the naked eye, it looks like maybe Philadelphia may play tougher teams down the stratch.

Looks to me like the Rangers have a slight advantage schedule wise. Rangers play 8 teams who are not currently in a playoff spot while Philly playes only 5. Take it for what it's worth.

Three more times they face each other. I can not wait for those games.

2 of them are home games which is a plus.

Those games are going to have as close to a playoff atmosphere outside the playoffs that you're going to find.

True. But they have put themselves in a position to do better than just "get in." So you can't fault us for hoping for a little bit more outta them.

Flyers have 4 games left against Devils, so if Rangers can win the division, they'll probably face either NJ or Philly.

They have to get serious points from these next six games, starting with MUST WIN against Capitals.

[southpark reference]Rabble.........rabble rabble rabble.....we need a scientist! [end southpark reference]

People need to relax we're going to make the playoffs!!!!!! No one expected this team to even get close......anything other than a playoff appearance in my eyes is a bonus......
