OT - That Jean Coutu commercial on RDS

This thing is amazing. Goes something like this.

Kid 1: Moi, j'chuis Patrice Brisebois! (I'm Patrice Brisebois)
Kid 2: Moi, j'chuis Vincent Damphousse! (I'm Vincent Damphousse)
Kid 3: Moi, j'chuis Jean Coutu! (I'm Jean Coutu)
Other kids: Ahh, c'est pas juste! Jean Coutu y'est trop bon! Moi je veux etre Jean Coutu (Not fair! Jean Coutu is too good! I wanna be Jean Coutu!)

It airs pretty much every commercial break during Habs' games, so I assume most people here have seen it. The first time I saw it, I died laughing as soon as the first kid mentioned Brisebois. Good times.

The commercial i like is these mastercardds Zamboni series

As a kid : He can't skate and get cut.
As a teen : He's the 2nd or 3rd goalie , can't play a game.
Later on : He train with a snow shovel and do the grass in summer
Then : He's the Zamboni-guy at the local arena and a hero in the city

What song do they play during that ad??? I think it's by Eric Lapointe. The other commercial song I want is the tune from the Ford Fusion ads. And... the Hyundai song on the commercial where the guy jumps off the cliff to his car.

You left out the kid who wanted to be Stephane Quintal. I almost pissed myself the first time I saw that commercial.

Actually I thought it has more of a Zappa/Mothers of Invention sound to it.

This one might piss you off...I was watching ctv HD last night so I was getting the crappy Toronto commercials. So this ctv commercial comes on and there's this guy at a bowling alley talking straight to the camera and he's talking about how his dad immigrated from Scotland to Canada in 1955, and the boat he was on stopped in Montreal. He gets off the boat and he's looking for a job, and because of his thick scottish brogue no-one can understand him. So he spent 30 minutes in Montreal before he bolted to Toronto and found a job. And the guy concludes with this gem 'And I shudder when I think about how close I came to being a Habs fan.'

Yeah how close you came to seeing a zillion Cups in your lifetime moron! Phew! Thank God you dodged that!

The only commercials I ever laugh at on french channels are the Familiprix ones or the Bell ones with Benoit Brière. Other than that, I can't stand most of them. Especially the latest Videotron commercial with Marie-Mai and Dumas... can't listen to this one anymore!

Best french commercial series, I think, were the "Si ça existait, on l'aurait".. So many of them I thought, at first, were real, american-lipsynched-in-french infomercials only for reality to hit me head on with a "you dumbf_ck, it can't exist"...

"...nous offre de nombreux brons brogrammes" says the hockey player sitting on a plane.

so what?

when I was playing at the outside rink when I was younger, the goalies rarely had goalie equipement... when you play with a "poutch" instead of a puck it doesn't really mather if you have a goalie equipement or not...

i just wanted to point out that i watched the HBO special and the first episode in the series of "Curb your enthusiasm" and i must say, Larry David is one big jerk. He must be incredibly difficult to work with.

I like it more in English, since it's Norm MacDonald doing the voice.
