How is Jagr not the player of the week? 4 points in one game, his 100th point of the season, etc. Still.. congrats!

Well did Jagr exceed 8 points for the week? Nylander had 3 goals and 5 assists in 3 games. Funny though that tsn.ca put a picture of Straka up with the article instead of Nylander. Oops!

Nylander deserved it...

he really stepped up his play and started finishing this week. Let's hope he can continue.

well deserved but jagr should have gotten it. first player to 100 points and identical numbers for the week as nylander should be a no brainer.

First player to 100 points...

has nothing to do with player of the week - player of the season up until that point perhaps. If Nylander and Jagr had the same amount of points, then the deciding factor would have to be something other than a cumulative stat, since we're only talking about one week.

Nylander has been a man on a mission fora few games now. I'm really impressed with how he's played and how he's been acting.

Congrats to Nylander. Its purely a stats award that I never have cared about before.

But I am really happy that Nylander is getting some recognition. You can't find a more dedicated hockey player in the world. The coaching staff actually had to forbid him to practise so much on his own this year in NY. Not many 33 y/o have that attitude.

I also think Nylander isn't recognized enough for his clutch game. Nyls can be lazy on the backcheck at times, though only when he is the 5th player home, anyway thats one thing. My point is that he works really hard along the boards. He never hesitates to take a hit to make a play or jump ahead of a Darian Hatcher to play the puck. Defenitly plays that we aren't spoiled to see in NY from our stars.

He's a kiss ***...

because his effort was so lackadaisacal in so many games, he had a lot of energy left for practice - which is what kept him in games.

Because i've had Nylander on my fantasy team the previous two seasons I can tell you, he always puts up alot of points in March/April.

Yea I would think Jagr would get it. But at least someone on the Rangers did. I wish we can had a scoring d, those will be big in the playoffs on the PP especially. Poti has played better defensivly, now he needs to hit the net with his shot, he has made some good passing plays.

Nylanders had his ups and downs, but now is the time for him to keep it going, when it's needed.

Yep Nylander played his proverbial rear end off this week. He was also very emotional about losing, you can tell he has the desire to win it all.

It's a testament to how good Nylander can be when he wants to/when he's on his A game.

That's the reason the guy has had such a sometimes frustrating career and has bounced around. When he's on, he's a great playmaking center who makes things happen.

When he's not, he's virtually invisible.

It's just scary to think of how good Nylander could be if he was only consistent.
